I've had hit or miss luck w/Aliexpress in terms of quality but I like to bypass as many middle men as possible which I feel is what Amazon, HF, and eBay are for many items. Is an Aliexpress or Banggood deals thread warranted?

Maybe set some ground rules of "I received item and it was defective/****" before posting a link? I won't go into the geopolitics of it all since many of us are still shelling out the cash through the above American brokers anyway.

Sure, why not. I've bought a few things from them. There is no guarantee what you'll get is usable. I bought a bluetooth device for my car and it was absolute ****. But it was under $2. Bought two digital microscopes from Banggood. The first was a decent scope. The second, which was touted as a better unit with more magnification, was absolute ****. The colors were way off and couldn't be adjusted. The field of view was terrible too. I gave the scope away. If you are interested, I posted a review on YT.

I've bought some electronics parts from Ali. So far all is good.
With Banggood, there will be 50 sellers advertising the exact same thing, using the same pictures and text, at various prices. It seems fishy to me.

It is the 1070. BUT if they updated the old model with the new sensor, that would crapify the older model. Buyer beware!

A friend had a cheaper unit that was about as good as the 1070. I'm sure it wasn't more than $75. Unfortunately, there was no name on it.

perhaps a stretch for this audience, but maybe it could make a good gift for a relative.

flydigi vader 3 pro – this is sincerely one of the best video game controllers that money can buy. it's for PC and Nintendo Switch and maybe other stuff, but not xbox or playstation. though it does not work on xbox, i prefer it to the elite series 2 ($150), for example. it's way better than nintendo pro controller for switch ($70).

i just got another one for under 40 shipped. try coupon USSC04 at checkout (saves $4 off $29+ orders).

be sure to get vader 3 pro, not regular vader 3.

also, here are replacable thumbsticks for it:
some gamers are picky and like slightly different stick heights. it's available as a $1 'welcome offer', so if you're new to aliexpress and want the controller, might as well get this, too.

Just a WARNING to Aliexpress users. I ALMOST got scammed badly on the last purchase and want to prevent this happening to anyone else. I was on the hunt for a metal cutting saw namely the evolution 14" metal saw and they typically retail in the $350-$400 range. I found a couple of sellers on Aliexpress who had the same saw for $263 brand new. All the reviews from other buyers seemed positive and even had pictures of the exact saw and package with shipping label they received so I placed my order. I was notified of the tracking as usual and everything seemed to be progressing smoothly. I was excited to get the saw at such a good price because I had been searching for months and couldn't afford the current prices until I found this deal. Well sure enough I get a notification that the package had been delivered and I cant wait to get home and unpack it. Of course when I get home there isn't a package at all. I checked the tracking with the local post office as the vendor had shipped USPS. The post office clerk told me that it is most likely a scam as they have been seeing a lot of this from AilExpress. The vendor ships a package to the same zip code for your city but it is not the package you ordered. Usually it is just an empty box as the tracking shows a package weight of 1.0 lb. The saw should weigh about 40 lbs. The shipping address is typically the same city but not the correct delivery address so that it shows as delivered on the AliExpress tracking which will delay you opening a fraud claim. You open a claim with Aliexpress anyway who directs you to contact the vendor first (horrible China communication compared to Amazon etc..). The vendor will state that they are sorry you didn't receive the package blah blah and promise a refund. This then closes your complaint claim with Aliexpress and the vendor. Once the claim is closed you cannot track nor pursue the refund which will never be fulfilled. I made the choice to pay using paypal and still almost got scammed. The vendor showed a refund goint to my paypal which would take up to 2 weeks to complete and in the meantime they closed my claim. Luckily I pursued paypal who paid me back right away and pursued Aliexpress for the fraud. I got lucky but I'm sure many others did not. I purchased the saw on amazon the next week for regular price to avoid the headache of a deal that is too good to be true. This is the vendor I purchased from on Ali express. Be warned.
