These are slides for 4" vises. The smaller one is for a PVC Bulldog, and the larger one is for a vise manufacturer rarely mentioned.

Well yeah. I have a 5" Yost FSV-5 vise that is about 1/3 the mass of my old Starrett 324-1/2 despite having slightly wider jaws.

Jaw width alone is kind of a silly measurement for comparing vises.

My Polish built 6" has decent heft but it is a toy next to the 4 1/2" Reed we had at work. There is a lot more to consider than jaw size.
