All American toolbox

Saw a mediocre quality tool box today. It said 'All American' with an eagle on the label.

Anyone know anything about it... Was All American a brand or a product line of some mfg. ? When about are they from ??

I know nothing about that box but historically I have found that most things with "America" I'm the title are not made in USA. Seems to be a trend with businesses owned by those of foreign descent as well. "American sports bar", def. not American owned.

All American was a cheap home owner grade box from the late 80's early 90's. When I was about 12, my stepdad got three small rollaways with a top lid his work was tossing out. One was technically my first rollaway. For the amount of tools you could fit into one they worked fine. Later on I got a kennedy 520 chest that I sat on top. I got the little combo pretty full. The bottom end up caving in under the weight and in the scrap it went.

I suspected that too and didn't buy it but it wasn't marked with any coo either.

This was a little cantilever which I like but the metal was kinda thin. I figured it to be a little older by how it looked.
I guess the late 80's is starting to become a long time ago. Sigh'

I have an All American hand carry toolbox that was given to me by an older gentleman. It looks a bit newer than the one in your picture, but it's marked made in the USA and is actually not terrible quality. I'd say it's about equal in quality to a Craftsman hand carry toolbox from the mid 80s or so. Based on the appearance of my toolbox, I would guess that it was made by Waterloo sometime in the mid 80s.

Waterloo Industries manufactured tool boxes and sold them under their own label and under the Sears label. Waterloo also manufactured tools for a number of other brand names such as Magnum and Traxx.
Waterloo Industries was purchased by Stanley, Black and Decker in 2017.
