make a simple non ratcheting Instinct handle 1/4 hex bit driver. this pisses me off to no end. I need one on a daily basis. think if enough people wanted one they'd make one?
all the tools SO makes and they don't...

So make one. Shouldnt cost that much for the handle and just find a generic 1/4 bit holder. Slam em together and bam. Exactly what you want.

Maybe the OP just likes Instinct handles very much. Sometimes you just like what you like and nothing else will do. Kinda like how I prefer women. Can't talk me outta that one.

already have an SGT4BR, was looking for something to work with the diamond hex bits.
Agreed on the last part. But isn't the instinct handle basically a square hard handle? Or is it the funky triangulated handle?

I think this might be one of those tools that would be like shooting themselves in the foot for Snap-On. There is very little profit to be made selling a single bit handle, and very little profit to be made selling hex bits for that handle, but Snap-On makes a good profit many times over by selling many different whole screwdrivers to the same customer instead. The ratchet screwdrivers are an exception to that dynamic because they are costly enough for them to still find it a worthwhile business venture. The ratchet screwdriver supplements the other screwdriver offerings instead of undermining them.
I would think adding a bit screwdriver would take a noticeable fraction of sales away from their whole screwdriver sets and also possibly ratchet screwdrivers, which would not be a good business decision for Snap-On. They don't have the same "conflict of interest" problem with something like a 1/4" square drive screwdriver handle, so they make one.

the 'pop' mechanism on that is identical to this driver. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they are the same with different handles. COO Czech. Hmm. How many SO tools come in a pouch like that?
actually, quite a few weird *** sets like that come in the pouches...like the lil precision screwdriver sets that everyone loves for someodd reason...

Yeah once I saw that I'm 99% sure it's the same driver with a different handle. I just wrote it like that to be a smartass.
I have the wera and it's great. I have even worn it on my belt a few times in the times I needed onsites where I couldn't carry a bag.

The last non-ratcheting magnetic screwdriver they made was the SDDM41. It had a stainless steel shank with the 1/4'' hexagon magnetic bit holder, and a black ergonomic hard handle. Very nice tool.

That's an average price Snap-on asks for a socket. A 1/4" chrome swivel will set you back $50 a piece.

Read it again: If they make a bit driver ratcheting, then non ratcheting is no different...
