Went to habitat for humanity today, found a nice tool box. But they also had these 12 pt sockets from japan the looked like they were 13 mm allen drive. I didn't buy them though. Any info about them?

I have a ball joint with a black oxide finish. The only markings on it say: SEARS 3/8 TAIWAN.

It has a 3/8" male on one end, and a hex/Allen male with a detent ball on the other end, that fits super snug into a 16mm socket.

I've never found a use for it, assumed it was for some proprietary Sears impact wrench or something like that.

I don't know if the two are related.

Edit: Got a pic.

I didn't get any pictures of the sockets, but I found a picture of a set. These were made by None Better tool co. I guess each set included an allen wrench to turn them. There was a stamping on each socket that looked like the word Japan that was worn down. They did have knurling & were very shallow. I might go back for them.
