I don't see any specific threads for vintage bolt cutters, Allen-Randall or H. K. Porter, so here goes.
These have been in the brewery shop for over twenty years. In the old days, we'd get specialty malt imported from Scotland in shipping containers and the big bolt cutters were for removing the rather serious seals on the containers. They get very little use these days, mostly because they weigh nineteen pounds and are very front-heavy--you almost need a second person to hold up the cutting end (I just challenged the strongest employee in the brewery to hold them horizontally by the handles--nope).


Bending them wasn't easy.
I think this is a trade mark:


They were serious about those bolts staying put.

A quick internet search didn't turn up much. I'll do some more digging tonight.
