So I found an Allen tool yesterday. It is a 5" extension with .275 square x .540 deep square on one end with .285 x .540 square broached/cut into the other end. It has Allen tool co. Hartford Pat. June 7 1910 on it. This site won't allow me to post pictures for whatever reason. Any ideas on exactly what it is?

In researching, I found ads for a 2",4" and 6" tap extensions from 1920. It says something about making your taps a pulley tap with the extension. This is a 5" one. A 3/8 tap or 10mm tap by todays standards barely fit into the square. If that truly is what it is.

Allen ended up as part of the Apex group, and they just shut it down for good, along with Armstrong and KD.
