Allied Vise 5

Anybody know anything about Allied Vises? I am seeing this at an auction. I did search the 'everything you need to know about bench vises' thread, but nothing.

I did finally find a couple threads on here...don't bother with this one. Sorry. Search must not function quite as well as I hoped. found it by google searching the site.

i use an Allied 6 as my use and abuse vise. it has handled everything i have done with it, including many "press" jobs. got it for 10 bucks.

yes they are imported cheap vises. but for a cheap import, they are stout. there are many scattered about in the large mills around here(USS, MITAL, etc..) and they live long lives of abuse. mine was well worn when i got it, and still works flawlessly.

i cant comment on the current offerings, or if the quality has gone down.

“Taiwan” not china great vise by the way Very stout. I pick one up that was thrown in the scrape pile I fixed (broke bolt) then painted it and it works flawlessly makes my Babco 616 look like a small toy

I got this one this week. Looks at least to me, pretty heavy duty.
I gave $50.00 for it.
