My company wants me to take a Allison transmission class, maintenance and overhaul classes.
I'll like to know what tools are involved in rebuilding a Allison transmission? Any specialty tools needed?

Big rigs? Bearing puller, slide hammer, bearing splitters, snap ring pliers, retaining ring pliers, sockets.

Pick ups? Probably about the same. Never had those apart.

You'll need a set of these to remove that heavy *** torque converter. That's about as far into them as I have been.

The company looses about $1,500 an hour when a truck is down, trucks run 12-14hr 6 days a week. Service call or take it to a shop takes a 24hrs for someone look at it. The company wants to keep that down to a minimum. They just purchased me the Allison DOC program.
I've got a old th350 in the shed that I'm going to practice on before I attempt rebuilding a Allison, maybe find a broken Allison.
The trucks are Peterbilts 325.

We currently don't have a lift and they really don't have the room for one. Unless they get the mobile lift. I'm not sure if I can get the trucks high enough to even pull them out. :lol_hitti
But they're seriously looking into it, it'll be a big plus for me.

Big bastards don't really give much trouble and when they do it's usually electrical.

I have a set of those T/C handles........what do I win?

Its nice that the handles fit all GM converters. I use mine all the time, makes it easier to handle them. Cuts down on messes for sure.

Surprised their running the 1000 series alison. Good transmission. Most issues are torque converter, electrical, or valve body related.
