Alltrade bench top vise problem

Hoping maybe someone on here can help me on this. I have an older Alltrade vise Model #299-v-5 that has been great, up until the part broke that keeps the vise from rotating basically rendering the vise unusable. I called Alltrade (3 times just in case) and they haven't made benchtop vises in 12+ years? and even though they get a call with same issue "about once a month or two", they don't carry any replacement parts. I do know how to weld, however, this is beyond my skill set and available (need 220, etc) power, as well as the location of the break seems to make it VERY difficult to fix, if not impossible. My neighbor (also a car guy) has very good welding skills and access to equipment and offered to "try", but we think this will be a waste of effort. Does anyone know where I might source the part? I don't know what it is called, however, it is the circular piece that has a "tongue" that locks the "auger" from rotating the vise........I don't know how else to describe it. Any help appreciated and if I cannot find the part, I will have to buy another vise.
