SAE and Metric is likely the better way to phrase the joke. Imperial is likely no longer politically correct. Akin to asking do you have SAE and Metric adjustable open-end wrenches. The joke being since they're adjustable, they can be used for both, just like your pliers.

SAE which used to be Society of Automotive Engineers and is usually used to mean fractions of inch-based tools as opposed to metric tools based in millimeter.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one

I have that set from the 90’s - mine was 4pc, diagonal cutters, needle nose, slip joints and channel locks. I also bought the set in high viz orange a few years later. Good pliers, and prices were right around the holidays.

It might not be a joke though. Many adjustable wrenches have measurements marked on the jaws. So it does make sense to have metric vs sae adjustable wrenches

I suppose you're joking on this one. Or maybe it's a good way to justify more tool purchases to the wife.

I have adjustable wrenches that have no scales. I have some that have metric on one side and SAE scale on the other side of the wrench. That being said I've never adjusted them to the scale to use them.

I don't need to justify my tool purchase to the wife, cause she has seen with her eyes that my tool purchase is a money-generating activity. Among cars, boats, guns, watches, gambling etc, tools are the most innocent hobby! What are we going to do with extra time on the hand? Women? That is much worse!

Does your wife approve of your avatar or is that her?

He CC, these might be on the list of the series you're looking for, too. I state "brushed" and black handle but it's really that Brushed on the face and a sort of grey on the un-brushed areas. Some grey oxide or whatever it is they used on them (unless otherwise noted). List is in works so there may be some corrections needed. Regardless, hope this helps.

Those were made by Western Tool and kept showing up at the Denver flea market for pennies on the dollar. I wish I had bought a lot more of them. Zero rust resistance but very high quality.

These look similar to the ones sold as Craftsman Industrial from Summit ~2015. Are they they more or less the same?

You'll also need the Craftsman USA (like professional but not marked) ergo angled pliers made by Western Forge.
