Hey guys hows it goin?? I am getting ready for a floor pour this week. They are gonna add the accelerator to the mix. The garage is heated, so I'm not worried about the temp inside the garage, BUT I have a small slab I'm pouring outside next to the garage as well. Have any of you guys experienced pouring slabs in COLD weather??

weather for thursday is a high of 43 and a low overnight of 25. With the accelerator Should we be OK??? Do I need to get a blanket? lol

Also, I heard there is a sealer they add @ the plant. Is this already mixed sealer any good? I'm not looking for anything fancy, just some protection from oil spills on my floor :)

You probably want to lay down some burlap or straw with plastic over it at the least. They rent electric blankets for cold weather curing, someone who knows better than I can chime in, but I don't think the slab will ever reach rated strength curing between 30-40 degrees.

Thanks guys. Pour went AWESOME. I just used some old blankets for the slab outside. The inside slab was heated pretty well but still took a solid 12 hours to set up ! Overall I'm quite happy with it. We now have 300% more places to park/store and work on cars :)
