Those saw jointers are used in hand sharpening any kind of straight saw blade from handsaws to 7 foot crosscut saws. My grandfather had a full set of them and tooth set pliers as he was a carpenter before electric tools of any kind came out. He graduated from carpentry apprentice school in 1906 from what I have heard.
