Altering existing 220 for compressor/welder

Last year I wired my garage for my new welder with a 30a breaker. It uses a different plug then what my compressor that I just bought does.

The compressor says 220v at 20a

Its an older compressor, craftsman 4hp 220v 20 gal tank.

So my question is:

Should I or can I use the current wiring for my welder with the compressor?

Can I just switch the plug on the compressor? Or should I run the wires from the welder outlet to a new outlet for the compressor?

I would like to do it right but also the cheapest way possible.

The easiest way to go is an adapter, if you can find the right one.
Similar to this: 50A to 30A adapter

Otherwise you can swap out the cord/plug on the compressor to match the welder.

Thanks very much that is what I was wanting to know. I was not sure If I would be able to use my 30amp breaker or not.
