Aluminum Body Compressor pumps; Looking at this Porter Cable

Looking at this Porter Cable for my dad from a x-mas present:

Fleet-Farm has it for $400. My only question is how long do aluminum body pumps with cast iron sleeves last? I'm sure all cast iron is better. But this one the price is right.

It all depends what it's used for, homeowner stuff once in a while, homeowner stuff , like some of us who will run it 4 hours a day at a minimum. For your budget I don't think you'll do better than that one.

For the "it has to be cast iron" crowd that's bound to comment, remember the $400 price tag. I have a 7.5 HP Eaton with a cast iron pump, I love it but not everyone can afford them. I couldnt afford mine, I sold a bunch of my stuff to buy it but I do a lot of blasting and needed a good compressor.
