Just purchased a full box of Hillman Galvanized Washers, I cut open the tape sealing the lid and spilled out the box only to be greeted with this dire warning that I've never seen before........

Really?
Maybe, just maybe there is too much Big Brother action worrying about Me?

If you ever wondered about what Zinc can do to you, visit Palmerton Pennsylvania sometime and observe the almost complete lack of vegetation surrounding the town!

I just LMFAO. Thanks Humble.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

As for the washers, yes they are dangerous . Please send them to me. I will dispose of the properly... [wink wink] How many in the lot you bought ? Usually 2,000 of each size in the boxes we buy.

On the other hand Hillman's main storage and headqtrs are only a few miles from the shop. Should I be worried????????? :(

Hahahahahahahahaha.

6 5/8" or 2 of 3/4''

3/4'' are the tough ones. Works best with milk :lol_hitti

I seriously would not be surprised to see California put up billboards warning that Air and water both contain chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer......

Well it's a good thing you don't live in California. Every chemical at my job has that same label on it but mine don't say wash hands after handling, they say don't come in contact with your skin. :lol_hitti

You're not going to die, but your nuts will shrivel up and turn to dust.

They you'll wish you were dead.

I was actually in Cali for some training a few years ago. I farted and some government agency guy slapped a warning label across my shoulder blades...

He lives in NW Jersey, not San Fran:lol_hitti

Dan

Of ****...I didn't even realize that.

You have more to worry about and probably get more harm from the NJ garbage that is being broadcast on TV than the washers

anything containing hexavalent chromium has to be labelled. It is accepted that this will be eliminated for any products made or sold in Europe, soon in the US. I dont think China cares yet. I try to buy black washers when I can.

It's a Prop. 65 warning, just another income scam to enrich lawyers. :(

I think almost every item you buy in thhe USA has that same warning on.

I've seen it on electronic goods, paint, food, medicines. I guess it is a general all round disclaimer, for everything, about everything, for everybody, everywhere.

Remember that the first thing you are likely to handle after playing with the washers has the most sensitive and absorptive skin on your body...:shocking:

Wash hands before and after using the toilet.:lol_hitti

Bah, you'll be fine. The shop at work plasma cuts galvanized sheets 8 hours a day, and it's full of more galvanized dust than you can shake a stick at. Noone has died yet lol

On a Sears hairdryer --
Do not use while sleeping.
(That's the only time I have to work on my hair.)

----------------------------------------------------------

On a bag of Fritos --
You could be a winner!
No purchase necessary. Details inside.
(the shoplifter special?)

----------------------------------------------------------

On a bar of Dial soap --
"Directions: Use like regular soap."
(and that would be???....)

----------------------------------------------------------

On some Swanson frozen dinners --
"Serving suggestion: Defrost."
(but, it's just a suggestion.)

----------------------------------------------------------

On Tesco's Tiramisu dessert
(printed on bottom) --
"Do not turn upside down."
(well...duh, a bit late, huh!)

----------------------------------------------------------

On Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding --
"Product will be hot after heating."
(...and you thought????...)

----------------------------------------------------------

On packaging for a Rowenta iron --
"Do not iron clothes on body."
(but wouldn't this save me time?)

----------------------------------------------------------

On Boot's Children Cough Medicine --
"Do not drive a car or operate machinery after taking this medication."
(We could do a lot to reduce the rate of construction accidents if we
could just get those 5 year-olds with head-colds off those bulldozers.)

----------------------------------------------------------

On Nytol Sleep Aid --
"Warning: May cause drowsiness."
(..I'm taking this because???....)

----------------------------------------------------------

On most brands of Christmas lights --
"For indoor or outdoor use only."
(as opposed to what?)

----------------------------------------------------------

On a Japanese food processor --
"Not to be used for the other use."
(now, somebody out there, help me on this. I'm a bit curious.)

----------------------------------------------------------

On Sainsbury's peanuts --
"Warning: contains nuts."
(talk about a news flash)

----------------------------------------------------------

On an American Airlines packet of nuts --
"Instructions: Open packet, eat nuts."
(Step 3: say what?)

----------------------------------------------------------

On a child's Superman costume --
"Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly."
(I don't blame the company. I blame the parents for this one.)

----------------------------------------------------------

On a Swedish chainsaw --
"Do not attempt to stop chain with your hands or ********."
(Oh my God..was there a lot of this happening somewhere?) __________

True. I live 2 miles from Palmerton.
The mountain was bare of vegitation around the old New Jersey Zinc company plants. It still is a bit sparse but there is a group replanting the mountainside so at least it has a bit of green again.
While the maufacturing/proccessing of zinc did kill of ALOT of vegitation, the ground can (and is) able to support plant life again

The difference between an English man, a French man and an American...

The French man washes his hands before he pees.

The English man washes his hands after he pees.

The American doesn't wash his hands at all... :willy_nil:lol:

Have done it and yes, it saves considerable time. Mostly touch up. Although I don't really recommend trying to starch a collar while wearing.

I want my own warning label that says anything referring to regulations in California gives me indigestion.
