Thanks for the info. I seen a picture of those lights at my local Home Depot but they did not carry them. I could always order from the web though.

I have a metal roof so my rafters are 4' on center..

Thanks again,

Gary

Hi Gary,

2-bulb troffer's from Home Depot:
http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc...splay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053

Same price as the 2' (4-bulb), but I have 16" O.C. joists.

We pre-framed the light locations with 2x2's to give them more secure mounting than just against the sheetrock.. LMK if you want more details.

Happy to help.

You can probably order them into your local store and pick them up there. I don't know how well they would ship (UPS) as the edges are pretty easy to bend.

 I like that one!

Thanks for the input guys. The lights I'm looking at are a 8' long strips, but each strip has 4 4' T8 bulbs.

The one thing I already learned here on the forum, and checked at HD, is that both the 8' and 4' T8 units that they sell are the GESB series...so at least I will be able to play my FM radio!

I am looking to the same bulbs 4 4ft t-8's but I cant find them on the web or any pricing. I am looking for 20 of them. can anyone steer me in the right direction?

just wire regular outlets in the ceiling and if you run short for light just buy hanging shop lights and add as much as youd like. all my lighting is hanging shop lights off recepiticals, that way if a light goes bad in the trash it goes new goes up works great in my 30x80.

Do you mean bulbs? or fixtures?

The bulbs are standard 4 ft T8 bulbs, your choice of color of light, warm, bright or daylight.

The fixtures are a little unusual but should not be hard to find. You can just as easily use 2 bulb 4 ft fixtures and spread them out where you want them, probably cheaper to buy then the 8 ft ones.

My electrician suggested 'High Bay' lights. They are 2'x4' with 4 skinny tubes in them and a chrome backing. We had the distributor do a lighting plan for us and the numbers (which I can't find for you) were high. He used 6 fixtures in a 38 x 40' garage with 10' and 14' ceilings. It's like an operating room. It's the brightest room in my house. Call an electrical lighting supply or check online if you have the time. Stokes lighting supplied mine and we only used 6 fixtures. They cost about $130 each and are supposed to be very energy efficient.

Good luck.

Check these. Use the 'daylight lamps'
