You are not crazy, but some Ebay sellers sure are!
I was browsing last night and found plenty of ratchets and tools that were more expensive than Snapon.com

Anyone who pays that much for a used Snap-on tool is a *****. Especially since they wont warranty ebay purchases.

What happened to the red "Snap On Racing" handles that were re-introduced a year or so ago? Was that just a short-term thing? Not offered new anymore?

It's not just Snap-on:

Here's a nice Duralast toolset:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Duralas..._Automotive_Tools&hash=item2c6bbe6315&vxp=mtr

How about some CM Adjustables?
USA. Nice warranty too.. if it ever breaks you can get a shiny new CHINA replacement someday.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Pc-Crafts...187?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27ceec9ae3

which cracks me up when you have this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Craftsman-P..._Automotive_Tools&hash=item2579dd0a2a&vxp=mtr

which is still sky high

Those break jaw adjustables, I almost bought those and backed off of the $30 price...can't believe he is getting $60 for them, that is crazy.

Re: red SO screwdrivers, thats close to twice as much as I paid for the last used SO screwdriver I bought(dividing the sellers price by his number of screwdrivewrs).

Re: Duralast tools. I have a 1/4, a 3/8, and a 3/8 flex duralast ratchets and gave some thought today to getting a 1/2 ratchet at the flea market for $12, but passed on it. I had already spent money on some SK sockets and was feeling a little short of funds.

world is full of idiots, eBay is only another avenue for them to show it to everyone. as far as SO on eBay, I won't buy anything other than new and only if it's at least 25% off of list, I don't understand where all the fanaticism over dirty used stuff comes from.

$200 for used SO, no you are definitely not the crazy one. At the end of the day, if someone buys it, the sellers not crazy either.

You can buy a functional screwdriver,a pretty good one for 5$,,, I even have some grab bag dollar jobs that have somehow survived for many years in a brutal environment, not sure why I would spend any more especially if I was on the road with it. Cheap stuff is so good anymore and at near disposable prices that buying expensive tools is a waste of time.

I wanted to add a few red hard handled snap-on screwdrivers to a mobile tool set and I was floored by the asking prices on Ebay as of late. Clearly I have been out of touch and I understand that supply and demand economics fundamentally dictate prices but honestly.

I hope this is no one here but this seems nuts. Tell me I'm crazy.

You're not crazy, that seller is - he's got insane prices on a lot of his other stuff, too.

I dont even look for tools on ebay on weekends. The prices are nuts. I look at it as alcohol fueled stupidity. Like the guy said....close to SO retail sometimes. Try weekdays off hours....I look during weekdays on early morning bids going off. Hope this helps.
