I didnt even know they sold tools untill I got that e-mail. They even have the "andy snips" that were recomended to me in another thread.

As far as I'm concerned,Amazon could be giving tools away and I will never deal with them again.About a year ago,they had a deal on SmarTool levels-buy the module and get a 4' frame free. When I placed the order,the frame was put on a 2 week back order,but I recieved the module quickly. Every week for the next 4-6 months,I got an e-mail that required a response within a week to keep the b/o alive.The deal for the module and free frame stayed posted on their site for the entire time.Due to computer problems,I missed responding to one of their e-mails and lost the free frame-I tried their appeal process and got an e-mail back saying they wouldn't make good on their "deal". Just to see what would happen,I tried to order the frame at a price of $24.99-as per their on-line catolog-and it was in stock and would ship the next day.
I'll let you guys figure it out from there.

Amazon is always having some sort of sale like that. You just need to check the site every once in a while. BTW, that offer is probably only good on items sold directly by Amazon, not their third party retailers. That's usually the way their sales work.
As soon as you bite on that sale, they will have a better one. Trust me. Been there - Done that - Will probably do it again. They also have a way of making their prices fluctuate wildly. One that comes to mind was a set of 16" and 48" Stabila levels that went back and forth from $80 to around $30 and back a few times earlier this summer. Of course they didn't have the $30 price until a week after I paid $80 for the same thing at a local hardware store. Oh well.

Yeah, I bought a Milwaukee framing nailer from Amazon. At the time I bought, it was $269, but you got a free $50 gift cert to Amazon, and then if you bought framing nails, the nails were free and you got $30 off (go figure). So the nailer and nails ended up costing me about $189 (well, I spent the $50 gift cert there on books, which I would have done anyway, as I read a lot).
Not much later, they had just the nailer priced at $189, I think with free nails still. I kicked myself a bit for that. Oh well. But it sure is a fun tool.

I recently bought a PC compressor on Amazon for $399. It was $500 at Sears. I paid $324 because I had a $75 coupon. There was no tax and the shipping was free. The compressor weighs 165 pounds. They shipped it by freight. I saw the freight invoice to Amazon and it was over $100. I think I got a good deal.
Amazon is a big faceless corporation like Home Depot. Their customer support stinks. But on the plus side, they will usually let you return an item for full refund and cover the return shipping. They will also replace an item that arrives damaged due to their incompetant packaging.
