If you get an Amazon Rewards visa this month they throw in a $200 gift card.

Amazon Rewards Offer

Took about 5 minutes and approved me for $10k. Gift card balance is already in my account.

The card also gets you 5% back on Amazon purchases if your a prime member.

I couldn't find the deal on my business account, had to log in to my personal prime account to find the offer.

So do I take the new card with the $200 bonus and then cancel the old card? I'm presently online chatting with Amazon and going in circles with their "expert". I'm fast believing it ain't worth it.
It seems they'll let me open a 2nd Amazon Visa credit card to get the $200 but I'm not interested in a duplicate credit card of any type.

I just signed up for a second card and received the 200.00 in my account instantly. Thanks OP. I also already had a card but if they are throwing around around couple hundred I will get in line. There is no annual fee so thanks Amazon for handing me 200.00 for some additional free tools.

If the old card has the same benefits cancel the new card. The older the card the better your credit, but I think they only look at your oldest card.
My wife does it often for airline miles. We call it harvesting points.

It will ding your credit a little, but only a couple points if your credit is good already.

The more credit you have the better your FICO score just cause you have a card doesn’t mean you need to use it. Use it once a month or a couple times a year and it will just sit there Raising your credit score. Then you get a free cash bonus

Credit scoring is a little more complicated than that, too many cards, low utilization and other factors can lower the credit score. Applying for a new card requires a hard pull and will typically ding your credit score 20 to 30 points for six months to a year.

I applied, but got denied due to already having the card. The terms & conditions also state that you can't get the bonus if you are already a cardholder.

Thanks. Was approved for way more than I anticipated  and got the $200 credit. I likely wont use it too much, but after the initial credit check ding, it should help with the overall credit utilization metric over time.

I usually try to be very conscious of my credit and not hurting it for stupid financing gimmicks or deals, but $200 is a lot different conversation vs a $50 or so gift....Very tempting

Lots of such deals. The best one now is $500 to apply one from bank of America. Minus $95 fee, net is $405.

Or, if you travel a lot, American Express Hilton is the best. 100k points is 2 or 3 nights. Could be more than $400.

Not to get too off topic, but the American Express Hilton is the best card I have ever had. I got the Aspire, so it has a high annual fee, but all the benefits far outweigh the fee. I think our sign up bonus a few years ago was 250k points (about $1,250 worth, depending on point value), we get multiple free night certificates each year that have no value cap, and $250/year in Hilton resort credit and automatic Diamond status. We regularly use our free night certificates for rooms that are over $500/night, which immediately makes the annual fee worth it. Last month we stayed at the Monarch Beach Waldorf Astoria with two free nights and points for a third. The upgraded room (Diamond upgrade) that we got was booking for $1800/night. Checked out after 3 nights and paid a total of under $200 for parking and few resort purchased beyond the resort credit.

Ok, non-sponsored sales pitch over. Back to garages and hot deals.

I was curious but like others, I only see a $50 gift card.
I'm not sure how they determine the amount, because I didn't apply or otherwise submit any information.
So unless the amount changes after you actually apply or during the application, it must be based on other criteria like how much you spend on Amazon already. Just a guess.

Do you have Amazon Prime? I suspect the bonus is less without Prime.
