Deal starts at 12 noon PST. Price this morning is $48.61 and should go lower when deal starts. Was $70 a couple of days ago.

Reviews are generally good. But beware, the wire is copper clad aluminum, and the clamps themselves are probably copper-plated steel (this based on clamps that FJC sells.) So they may not meet the high standards of Garage Journal

Should do the job for most, 1G makes up for the Aluminum a bit, and 25 ft should be enough even when you have cars oriented the wrong way.

Con
$39 isn't far from the low end of jump boxes, and about double the cost of shorter cables that work as long as cars are oriented right.

My preference is a long much smaller gauge set, not to jump start so much as recharge the dead battery enough to start, but I live in SoCal with no very cold start issues.

Sears has the Diehard true 4 gauge 100% copper 25ft long ones for 39.99 from time to time.

I have them and the never fail when other people tell me their car won't jump start and tell me I am wasting my time trying with cables they start right up. Of course they are using BigLots 7.99 cables

Exactly. I have 3 runs of 1/0 OFC for my stereo. Sky High Car Audio has the best quality cable. I am gonna make a set of cables with some.

I'm just speculating here (but this is Garage Journal so WTF!) but the insulation is probably that crappy plastic stuff.

When it gets cold and you try to use those cables - and you're going to need them in the cold 9 times out of 10 - it's going to be like working with a coil spring. Ugg.

OFC is a tax on lack on knowledge. Good commercial quality copper, fine strands so its flexible in a durable jacket, with good grade crimped clamps.

Gauge and material determine resistance per foot. V = IxR (current times resistance) is the voltage drop. You start with about 12v from the battery, so at max current you want less than a volt, the less the better.
