Broke my jaw and my teeth with one once.

I do need one though.
Ouch. YEARS ago we were using lengths of logging chain and a come along to get my Toyota 4x4 out of a mud (Swamp) area on the power lines in SC where I grew up. Multiple trucks tried - they couldn't even make it to where we got stuck. I'm working that come along and I hear a loud "bang".

Never saw the other end of the chain that apparently went whizzing by my head - close enough to make several of buddies keep asking me "Are you okay?"

Moved the truck enough to get it out though. Don't tell OSHA.

I had a dent on the tailgate of my 87 Bronco from the first time I used the hi lift. I used them for recovery offroad all the time when I was into rock crawling. I used to carry a 48” and a 60” in the truck. The last recovery I did on a muddy dirt road in Payson, AZ the hi lift was the only tool I had. I came across an old couple who slid off the road. Jacking up the truck with the receiver hitch and pushing it out of the ruts was the move.

Looks like 3rd party seller, probably adjusted the px already...

Also, wtf is up with Koken usa selling this for $150+ shipped? :headscrat
The market price seems like $75-ish with lot of lower pricing?

Unless this amazon is maybe not accounting for a nasty
"import Tarrif" suprise for the JDM market imports?

Anyways thanks to OP for posting a good deal while it lasted.

I just put this in a cart at Ko-ken USA @$130. Toolsandtwisties discount code gets 10% off and shipping was free. The final cost was ~$117 before tax. The same item at is ~$90 at Epstein's, and there will be a relatively small but reasonable shipping charge.
Not $150 for me but still more expensive than other retailers. I'm guessing that Ko-ken USA's strategy is to build a retail network by not competing with the retailers.

Pro tip:

Search for Yamashita Industrial Laboratory. Every once in awhile Amazon Japan will be the seller (on Amazon US) and it’s super cheap with free shipping.

I bought this exact set in May 2024 for $50 delivered.

I’ve also scored other Koken on the cheap using this method.

Already gone .. ratz

I’m not sure what you mean.

What I meant: keep searching for Yamashita Industrial Laboratories at whatever frequency you decided. Every once in awhile the seller “Amazon Japan” will have a listing pop up. And it’s USD-JPY converted pricing with free shipping (if you’re Prime and the listing is Prime).

I mis-understood - I went to the listing and it was back to "full" price, or $99.13 usd. Didn't realize it wasn't a current deal
