You should check the prices on Fein and Festool jigsaws.

That was sort of my point. If someone is doing high end jigsaw-ing (not sure of the use case where other precision tools wouldn't be a better choice), there are other options worth considering... and that's before you get to the "cord question."

I have a very nice 30+ year old Bosch barrel jigsaw. I haven't used it in probably 10... because my use cases for 'precision cuts' are better served with a scroll or band saw, or for other less-precision scenarios, a cordless jigsaw.

Nothing wrong with the sale price if that's what you need. I wasn't knocking that... just questioning the value proposition.

I wonder if they are still made in Switzerland? the one I have (can’t remember the model number) is made in Switzerland. Was the top of the line years ago. An excellent tool!
The top-of-the-line Bosch corded jigsaw is now made in Hungary. My 40 year old corded Bosch jigsaw and 30 year old cordless drill were made in Switzerland. All the Bosch jigsaw blades I have bought recently are made in Switzerland.

The newly-released top-of-the-line cordless Bosch jigsaws are also made in Hungary.

Barrel-grip:

Top-handle:

I've wanted a battery powered Bosch jigsaw since I started collecting Bosch battery tools. However, that price is too steep for me since I use a jigsaw about once, maybe twice, a year. Do they ever go on sale? I really like the Barrel grip version.

Keep an eye on Lowes. This year for many months they had deals on Bosch cordless tools. I bought a few in which the pricing was $99 - $109 and I got a free battery + charger or 2 batteries. They also let you stack buy more & save on that and I got some items for $89(tool & gift). That works like the HD hack just never pick up the unwanted item(you cannot return the gift item like HD. They show the barrel-grip and top-handle at the same price as Amazon but OOS.

Olsa Tools Hex Bit Organizer with Magnetic Base

I've got a bunch of 3" and 6" bits, which would stick up too high in this thing. Any suggestions? There's got to be something better than the repurposed plastic Red Head anchor bolt box I just throw them all into.

This seems like something that would be ideal for a 3d print. Maybe this but modified for all long bits. https://www.instructables.com/3D-Printed-Hex-Bit-Holder/

Me and someone else spent about a week looking 6 months ago. There weren't any good options we could find. He was set on buying some colored pencil set for the tray since its about the right size but I'm positive it was flimsy plastic. So not really an option. He went MIA after that so I think he gave up. Its an ignored product space.

For occasional use you probably don't need the "profactor" version that I posted above. Bosch also released a couple of brushless models that lack the pro-level features. These ones are made in China, not Hungary:

Barrel grip $159:

Top handle $119:

That is Ryan's affiliate link. The forum software converts the amazon link to the affiliate link so Ryan makes a commission if someone buys through the link. It helps keep the forum running.

BTW they usually work fine on my version of Chrome (PC) . Might need to update your version.

It's a long time problem with Android Chrome, including current version. Workaround with a long-press and open in new tab.

Working fine on Pixel 7 Pro with Chrome.

Congratulations. While I didn't say it affects every instance of every Android Chrome browser every time, there has been a bug posted in the Google Issue Tracker database for at least 3 years specifically relating to the issue, and (unfortunately) marked as 'infeasible' ... which means nobody is looking into fixing. The issue is real. I see it at least 50% of the time on several of my devices and sandboxes, using various levels of Chrome including beta and dev branches. I see it 100% of the time on my daily driver... Samsung Gtab 9 Ultra running stable channel update.

Ad blocker extension perhaps. Run your browser in incognito mode and that disables extensions you may intentionally or inadvertently added to your browser.

I just highlight the link and stop after the Amazon ASIN number, Ctrl+C and then CTRL+V into the address bar in a new tab. It should bypass any issues your browser is giving you.

Not your typical GJ item but saving a buck is saving a buck (that could be used on GJ stuff)....

Heath Outdoor Products DD-24 Woodpecker Suet Cake Specially Blend To Attract Woodperkers and Other Colorful Songbirds All-Season No Melt, 5.2 x 1.2 x 5.2 inches, 10 Ounce x 12 Pack, Blue

Visit the Heath Outdoor Products Store
4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 1,379 ratings
Choice in Suet Bird Food by Heath Outdoor Products
1K+ bought in past month
Price:$5.70
$17.99 (68% off)

I used to by it at Walmart, but their suet cake price went "nuts" over the summer, it's almost twice this price for 8 cakes now. Even at Amazon, the same thing in a 10 pack vs the 12, is 3x as much. Link to bad price:

Link to much better price:

Not an Amazon deal, but this got me thinking of it. Ace/True Value stores have all of their house brand of Suet cakes on clearance for $1.25/ea. 3-4 different 'flavors' and fruit/nut/seed mixes for different species.
