I've not used the Spring Tools version, but both are shown in the review I linked. Someone asked that question in the comment section, and the response was "Mayhew feels a little more solid but both are plenty good for most jobs."

Well the price is really good. Sure even almost as good. They're well worth it

Ordered the cords and they were delivered the next day.

Claim to be 15 amp capable, but the plastic cord overwrap puts visions of the jumper cables with about four strands of tiny wire (that someone posted in a GJ thread a couple of days ago) in my head.

I’ll try them, but keep my infrared thermometer handy, as well as a fire extinguisher.

I didn’t see a UL designation on them.

Not confidence inspiring.

I bought them last time. They are ETL rated. Seem well made. The wire case has all the normal and usual marking and indicate 12awg.

When they showed up, I looked at them as well worth the money.

I was having difficulty reading the embossed writing. Late and low light when I unpacked them.

Sounds good, so thanks for the reassurance. Just can’t get the image of the Amazon jumper cables out of my mind. Already packed them for the trip North from Az to Mi.

cheep weld clamps & pins:

edit: Most of this stuff just got here (except the hold downs, I also skipped on the 2" & 4" clamps). Aluminum pins are going back (was hoping the stacking diameter was machined tight to use as spacers but they're fairly loose & stackable for storage mostly. The clamps are fairly decently built but column size only slightly bigger than your typical HF clamps.

edit 2: hold fasts look well made CoO TW, advertised as forged but they look cast to me....not 5/8's as advertised but made for 3/4 dog holes ~18mm actual. I'll likely return them.

edit: Both of these are reasonably comfortable. the top pair is clearly made for narrower/women faces, despite that it does a good job on my big face w/some debris ingress possible from below/cheek area. The bottom one is much wider and better suited for my face, does a good job covering cheek area but a poor job for debris coming from above (forehead). This may be addressed w/some attached shielding using tape or something. All in all, worth a try if you wear glasses & don't want to wear a face shield for some tasks.

50% OTG safety glasses. I've never been a fan of these OTG things but I've never used ones over like 3$/pc either:

Scale got here, fairly good deal imo. I had some concerns about accuracy down in the 10mg range but I ordered some cal. weights and it's actually +/- 2mg accurate. I haven't used the powder trickler yet. Very decent instructions and even though it comes with no case, the foam cut out makes storage tidy in the box. This thing is tiny though, footprint about a square cc.

Is there any wiggling of the mandrel in relation to the punch body?

It's not clear to me based of the pictures if the mandrel has a point at the end that can be centered on a mark. Usually they do, but if there's a wiggle, the punched hole will be off center.

I have an old Blue Point USA set of gasket punches that look exactly like that. To the point that I’m near certain they are Lang made as well.

OK, found a Youtube video. Apparently, there us no cental point on the mandrel, so the punch cannot be centered around a central mark.
