At one time these were the top blades tested by “Project Farmer”

Most of this stuff just got here (except the hold downs, I also skipped on the 2" & 4" clamps). Aluminum pins are going back (was hoping the stacking diameter was machined tight to use as spacers but they're fairly loose & stackable for storage mostly. The clamps are decently built but column size only slightly bigger than your typical HF clamps. A last minute idea for modification occurred to me so I'm ordering these:

Is there any wiggling of the mandrel in relation to the punch body?

It's not clear to me based of the pictures if the mandrel has a point at the end that can be centered on a mark. Usually they do, but if there's a wiggle, the punched hole will be off center.
I just realized I had gotten a cheapo hollow punch set from HF a while back for an unintended use I can't even remember now. Here's a few no-name ones w/a centering pin but doubt they're America made. The wooden box one looks tempting but reviewers complain about build quality....hard to trust reviews now a days since competitors often insert negative ones for identical products. I also often see metric being passed as SAE for 'close enough' tolerances, so if that's an issue, best to go elsewhere.

edit: Both of these are reasonably comfortable. the top pair is clearly made for narrower/women faces, despite that it does a good job on my big face w/some debris ingress possible from below/cheek area. The bottom one is much wider and better suited for my face, does a good job covering cheek area but a poor job for debris coming from above (forehead). This may be addressed w/some attached shielding using tape or something. All in all, worth a try if you wear glasses & don't want to wear a face shield for some tasks.

50% OTG safety glasses. I've never been a fan of these OTG things but I've never used ones over like 3$/pc either:

FWIW, if you care about such things, I'll just update the listing w/a review in bold from now on rather than bump w/a review to avoid cluttering the thread more than I already do ;D

that looks handy....

Scale got here, fairly good deal imo. I had some concerns about accuracy down in the 10mg range but I ordered some cal. weights and it's actually +/- 2mg accurate. I haven't used the powder trickler yet. Very decent instructions and even though it comes with no case, the foam cut out makes storage tidy in the box. This thing is tiny though, footprint about a square cc.

ordered some cal. weights because I didn't trust the mg range. It's here, kit was a good deal imo. The cylindrical weights could have had a better finish, the hinge in the plastic case will likely tear with use. Triple bagged and vac sealed for some reason.

The problem with doing that is that it will not show as new and most people will never see it. Most of us probably just read the new posts. It's probably better to just post a new post so people will see it.

that's a good point. I reckon most of us don't go back more than a few pages thinking most deals have expired.

I needed some 1/2-20 nuts but can't buy them by the pound nearby, lug nuts were cheaper (fine for my application).

edit: I received 20x M12x1.25 lug nuts instead of the advertised. A bargain if you need them, I'll have to check if any of my cars use this thread.

I've got a small engine that was working fine but I suspect the coil is going or is gone; tests fine though. My other spark tester doesn't tell much about the strength of the spark:
There's a few of these around this price point that look the same but you can unthread the tip on this one in case you have to test old engines. I haven't tested it yet but looks solid. Some phenolic body with silicone ground wire.

The Hex-Plus L-keys are awesome. Seriously, they've saved my bacon when (many) other tools have failed. However, this isn't really any particular deal; this is just their street price, which is confirmed by Keepa. Don't trust Amazon's "regular price" claims.
For what it's worth, Klein makes a set that looks identical, but comes at a better price

Any chance you can post a photo of the lug nut? are they the style pictured or with integral washer (truck style)?

they're just like those in the ad/picture. It's got a cone taper nut end similar to a crush washer, all the lug nuts I've ever dealt with have that...you can zoom into the picture in Amazon.

I've had mine for quite some years now. Really like it
I pulled the trigger. I've been using my circular saw with some of the Kreg universal track and between the guide edge getting chewed up, and the saw wandering in the sled, the guide edge is no longer a reliable indicator of where the cut will be. The other side of the track is also pretty burned up from using it with my metal cutting circular saw (though I've since purchased some separate track and dedicated sled).

I'd rather splash for a dedicated plunge saw than invest in more track. Plus, I won't have to keep installing/uninstalling my circ saw when I don't want to use the track.

I'm doing some jigging and shopping for toggle latches. The "2000 lb" capacity ones are unlikely rated for that much but it's a good deal compared to the "700lb" rated ones that seem identical.

these large ones are pretty solid. Unfortunately they don't work well except when flat & disengage as the anvil lifts in the rear so I'll have to replace them with locking types which will hold the angle:

Fortunately I found a decent price for them (still more than double the others)

Dewalt Flexvolt Mag Drill kit with 2 x 9AH batteries is the cheapest I've ever seen it:

Dewalt Drill Press Kit https://a.co/d/83UApLd

It's discounted at other retailers as well so not totally unique to Amazon, but still slightly cheaper at Amazon.

Looking for a toaster oven to PID for garage duties (heat treating metal, melting lead & plastics, etc..). Mostly to keep an eye out on marketplace
These w/the hot plates seemed best suited:

Interesting contraption for waste heat recovery:

This looked good for the kitchen (or garage if you want coffee)

or if you prefer black and pot on other side:

I've got a big kit of cobalt bits that I cracked open recently to go through some tool steel. I was so thoroughly impressed that I'm ordering a few smaller kits to keep around the various drills. I'm not sure how well they work in hand-held drills being that they're super hard and likely brittle though:

6$ 16 pc (note; only the 1st row of bits is cobalt; also metric, vendor also has an 8$ metric w/steel index for 10% off when combined):
<<stamped cobalt
8$
13 pc; imeprial:
9$ 13 pc ruggedized case:
<<lasered cobalt; case is meh
another imperial:
10$ 13 pc w/steel index & 10% coupon; imperial:
<<stamped HSS, gold TiO coating, may not be cobalt, performed well regardless
Another imperial steel index:

I have a half size version of one of these that I'm fairly satisfied with. Other models have flimsier racks w/o the vertical/rectangular framing & just sag under the weight (check customer pics since spacing might be tight):

1747832488859.png

Mine's like this but it looks like this model has an updated screwdriver holders on the top rack. It's super handy to keep by the garage door:

1747832624812.png

the design for the bottom rack on mine was a bit different so I could mount separately onto the wall w/o attaching to the main body and gain some extra clearance to mount non-drills upside down w/large batt. attached. On these, I would make/buy some tubing to make standoffs and get longer bolts. They also make standoffs that may be suited for the job.
