There are pawn shops and garage sales chock full of vintage, US made tools.

You can build a full box of good tools for almost nothing. Zero reason to buy cheap offshore hand tools for the same or more money.
Amen to this- for hand tools I've gotten great quality at flea markets for $1-$2 bucks a tool Quality stuff- a caveat is I usually have to clean them up a bit- wire wheel, maybe evaporust soak for a night, etc. Nothing major- but enough to degrease, de rust them. USA Wrenches are everywhere at my fleas- metric not as plentiful but still around. Pliers, drivers are everywhere. I have built sets of branded Channellocks, Craftsman vintage, USA made proto and crescent adjustable, the list goes on. Every type of pliers you could think of, Utica, Krauter, USA Craftsman, Klein, Danielson. I just gave my son a cleaned up set of Adjustables 8.10,12 inch Crescent Jamestown made that cost me about 5 bucks cash. Probably have about a bucks worth of PB blaster and evaporust invested along with about an hour of my time.

Exactly

"build a set, clean, wire wheel, blast, soak, overnight"

Great tools but not what some are looking for, this IS a project that requires time and labor

Ordering tools that show up at your door ready to perform is amazing for those looking to work not collect.
