The stand is currently out of stock but they are still taking orders. I contemplating buying it. Decisions decisions.

My boss has that saw and i use it everyday. I hate it, it's not a very good saw. Lots of play in the slide. The spring is so heavy, you almost have to slam it, to get it to go down.

I wouldn't even suggest it as a homeowner special.

The special to hit is when Lowes runs the Bosch DB Glide with the free gravity rise stand. Saw and stand both rock.

Unfortunately I'm stuck with the 5412 with the gravity rise, and had to pay for the stand

I reviewed the saw some time ago on ToolGuyd (http://toolguyd.com/dewalt-dws780-sliding-miter-saw-review/) and also with many more photos on Make (http://blog.makezine.com/review/tool-review-dewalt-dws780-sliding-miter-saw/).

I found it to be a heck of a great saw. There's no play in the slide of the one I tested, although in A vs. B comparisons with smaller saws I noticed the 780's slides could stand to be a little smoother and more fluid.

I bought it at hd last week. They had the rolling stand or the regular sliding. I am tight on space so went with the rolling. It is an awesome saw, a little jumpier than my makita but that seems to be a quick adjustment. I opened a new card so it ended up being right around the amazon price. I don't think you can beat the amazon deal, unless you want the rolling stand!
