There is a seller , P.U. Products, and they are listing multiple items at a discount. They are a clear scammer, and us long time Amazon sellers can easily spot them.

What makes this scamming seller devious is that they have some feedback, currently 99%, to make them look much more real.

Do not buy from them, they are not legit.

A common method is to list a few items for sale, then to suddenly upload 300-400,000, and every one is at a significantly lower price .

Also, the feedback is stilted, lots of praise, yet not very specific.

Thirdly, the amount of feedback does not really match the number of items listed.

Just taking it all together, it is not right.

Go ahead and order if you wish, but if it does not pan out in 30 days, I won't be surprised.

i'm not saying you're wrong to suspect, but what you've listed are all circumstantial. your OP made a claim without any reasoning, so I had to ask. and your claim seems to be very strong yet you only list circumstantial points to backup that claim. again, i don't think you are wrong to suspect, but i thought maybe you had direct bad experience or something substantial.

no doubt, i am seeing a lot of scams on Amazon and Ebay both these days... that's direct experience but in all cases I got my money back in a few days. so buyers beware!

I have 15+ years as a seller on Amazon & 20+ years selling on ebay, so I know a scam when I see it.

Furthermore, there is NO seller in all of creation who lists 200k+ items in less than a few days, is lowest price for ALL listings who is not a scam.

As I was once told, a wise man observes others poor choices to choose to not have to experience it for himself. I don't HAVE to be scammed to recognise one. Especially since this one is more subtle than many of the others using just launched sellers. I imagine this one will have a fair amount of success as it is much more devious.

I started to become much more skeptical of much information when I read "Man Who Never Was: World War II's Boldest Counterintelligence Operation"; when I was in junior high, a few decades ago.

In other words, take almost nothing at face value, especially if you have not come across it before.

I think it was just a pricing error, not a scam. I ordered some stuff from them the other day (crazy cheap prices) and my order ended up getting canceled.

The Amazon scammers tend to used "just launched" accounts with no reviews and send out fake tracking numbers. P.U Products doesn't fit that profile.

Hope springs eternal.

The scammers are just getting smarter & adapting.

wow. I ordered something from them on the 9th and got charged. I had a bunch of items in my cart from the same seller and by the time I went to check out I several items had disappeared. I then checked the sellers reviews and they were all positive so I took a chance with the rest. I called amazon last night to complain because I had been charged for several items coming from PU Products and they were suddenly cancelled from the seller. Amazon is telling me its about 10 days for a refund. I went to write PU products a bad review and I don't see an option. You probably have to have an actual purchase go through to give them a review. Warning to others. Stay away from PU Products.

I love how the OP warned they were scammers and the prospect of a good deal was too tempting. Even when told it was a scam people couldn't help it and still try and order from them.

I think we all ordered prior to this thread. The people being scammed are the sellers, not buyers.

Yup. I had already ordered by the time I had seen this thread. I just recognized the PU products in the title while skimming the HD section and thought Id share my experience.

I just googled "p.u. products" amazon seller and it looks like its a big problem. I hope my card info is secure

It's a hacked account. That happens on ebay too.

Actually, what's been happening on Amazon isn't hacked accounts. It's a lot of "new merchants" that get set up simply to scam the system. I ordered some General Finishes Gel Stains from one vendor. The price was like 1/2 of what it was anywhere else. The order placed, and I never heard anything else.

What I've read is that they basically set these things up, try and collect as much payment from the credit card companies as they can before Amazon flags them, then they disappear. They then go set up another account and repeat.

Amazon stands behind their A-Z guarantee, so I wasn't out anything except the time, but it certainly made me question new retailers going forward.

Somebody tells you it is a scam and the price being cheap you jump at it.

When I did computer consulting in NYC looking back and thinking about how many people asked about the Nigerian love letters. From all walks of life and educational levels believing that somebody would send them money. It was lots of people asking, it seems if you think you can get free money or something expensive really cheap you loose all common sense and plunge in head first.

But I heard this guy got

Because people are greedy. Even though they know it is a scam they figure someone else (Amazon, credit card company, etc) will get stuck with the bill. Then when such protections eventually disappear, those who abused it cry the loudest.

No, sometimes a "good deal" are just that, a "good deal". I hoped these peg board panels were clearance or something. So I tried to purchase some. Look at some of the warehouse deals that are posted at 75% off. Thats a good deal. Most times it legit

I jumped onto this forum to clear up any misconceptions about my company:
PU-Products.com.

We are NOT the P.U. Products that is selling on Amazon. We are on Amazon as UTV Tactical, and only sell a couple of dozen items such as FrogLube, ROK Straps, Mag-Jic Holsters and RZ-RAX for Polaris RZRs.

We can't find out how to stop P.U. Products from scamming people, because Amazon is still investigating. Sadly, most of their customer service reps are not very good at speaking English. Between my wife and I, we have been on hold for over two hours with them.

P.U. Products does not seem to have an active phone number, so if you complain about an order from them, the Amazon rep simply looks up 'their' phone number on Google. But it is not their number, it is ours at PU-Products.

Please check us out at www.pu-products.com, to see what we sell. Our web site is slated for a complete redo, but you will see that we don't sell the items that P.U. has.

These scams seem to be infiltrating almost every item listing I have been looking at recently...a just launched seller way lower priced (usually less than half) of other vendors with the same product. If it looks to good to be true it probably is.

I know legitimate sellers are upset about these fake businesses and even though you will most likely will be promptly reimbursed it is just total BS for buyers too

There are certainly early victims who order in good faith and are legitimately scammed. Fortunately, those people get protection. On the other hand we have those, some here, who after being informed of the scam will still place the order for that "great deal" with the belief that they could get lucky but if the do get scammed it is OK because someone else will foot the bill. Heck, they boast about it.

Absolutely a scam, just as I said.

If it is shipped and sold by Amazon or Amazon warehouse deals, certainly not a scam.
A third party seller who has recent feedback and has products at or above the regular Amazon price is probably not a scam, but it is always best to contact the seller if you want verification.

Sorry to hear that the scammers ripped off a legitimate sellers name, that happens a lot as well.

I'm bringing this thread back because I have found out the reason for the scams.

Every order from Amazon.com to a 3rd party seller includes your full Name, complete address, and phone number! And also you are easily duped when it comes to buying cheap deals online.

So don't carelessly purchase something at a price "Too good to be true" thinking that Amazon will take care of it. Sure you will get your money back, but Your personal info has been captured and is now being sold to scammers worldwide.

Not a good scenario.

Expect a phone call from 'Amazon', saying you need to verify your password because of Blah blah blah....

Same could be said about PayPal transactions, and that's been around for years. Great reason not to gamble on those. I do seem to be getting a lot more "hello, hello can you hear me" or "im with windows" calls lately to a #, that previously received very little as far as scam type calls.
