...Nobody can expect the folks handling and evaluating the returns to be experts in every area. It's simply impossible for Amazon to test a pressure gauge or a torque wrench, for example.
While I agree with this concept, I have seen too many cases where the Warehouse item I purchased was either NOTHING like the description or was so clearly old, used, or broken that it is not possible anyone actually looked at it before re-selling it. It has become so frequent, at least for me, that I have all but abandoned Warehouse items.

I was actually commenting on expecting the listed quantity and getting a single. Been a over a year since that worked out so I finally quit. There must be a threshold for being told to just keep it as that hasn't happened for a long time either. No matter what it is they always want it back now. I still check out the deals later on in the day as it's interesting to see what Duker sifted out.

Since Amazon went to 6 day prime shipping I've actually been using Walmart a lot more. It's pretty easy to hit the free shipping threshold and they don't hold the package for 4 days before they ship it like Amazon does now.

I used to set my alarm for Saturday mornings, sniped lots of stuff seconds after it was posted but have mostly stopped. More than 50% ended up like this and it's just not worth the return hassles anymore.
I can't argue the point as it has become much more challenging to find decent deals. You could really see the difference as more folks were working from home so the competition for deals increased exponentially. I read a report a few months back that discussed how many folks were flipping deals. I didn't think the margins would be worth the time but I guess as a side hustle folks can make some decent money.

Like Bruce said, half the fun is the chase as its my way to shift gears at the end of the day and not think about work. I will probably keep doing it until it stops being fun or I can't find enough deals to post.

What's this? I've not heard about it. I still get most prime in 2 days, some in one and every now and then same day. I live in the country but there is a distribution center on the other side of Indy ~30 miles away.

I agree. The variety of products Amazon sell is astounding. Nobody can expect the folks handling and evaluating the returns to be experts in every area. It's simply impossible for Amazon to test a pressure gauge or a torque wrench, for example.
Had 1 "warehouse deal" for a Dewalt or Milwaukee battery... can't remember... was supposed to be "Open Box" but it was an absolutely TOASTED battery with black arc stains at every contact.

Had 1 box of 36 come as a single...

I order 1,000 items a year from Am-a-zoon... I search the warehouse section FIRST when I'm buying something.

I regularly consumed Dukers Deals every Saturday. Thing is now... I have almost everything I need/want.

I can't remember how long it's been since I got something in 2 days. Over a year at least. I used to have something delivered from Amazon every single day before the pandemic, but their shipping has gotten unacceptable.

Thanks for the post. There is a joker in the Wera advent package this year. Someone started a thread on it in Hot Deals.

It is harder to find deals as Duker points out, David, Chezelle, I and a number of others try to pitch in and help sometimes. For me it is highly dependent on the cycles of how busy my life is. I am working on a plan to retire, which will probably take until the end of next year, but I am looking forward to getting out of the grind.

You're welcome! The post for the Wera 2021 Advent Calendar was made by me. The joker wrench in the calendar is different from the two I posted here.

The Wera self setting spanner wrenches are very small. Here they are with a Knipex 7" pliers wrench for perspective.

In the time you took to write that, some poor warehouse worker processed 10 returns and was graded on speed.... not accuracy.

I turned 55 this year and retired the 3rd week of March. It's everything I hoped it would be and I recommend it to everyone I know. Good luck with you're plan Crabman, my biggest hurdle was getting enough extra saved back to cover my health insurance premiums and the yearly out of pocket maximum. The 401k rule of 55 was what put me over the threshold.

Good luck with you're plan Crabman,

Thanks for the encouragement. I have been thinking to work until 65 because of the health insurance issue. I will be 63 in December, so if it takes me until the end on next year I will be within a year of Medicare. We are blessed to be comfortable. Keeping the same wife for 40 years is sure a help on that. Two new grand daughters in the past year, so I have them to help keep me occupied, they are the greatest.
