Anyone else having issues seeing Dukers thumbnails? I used to be able to read them, now they are low res so I can't see the prices anymore. Or, I'm losing my eyesight.

They used to _display_ bigger. You can see them larger if you either click on them or right-mouse-click them to open in a separate tab. It seems that the forum software tell the browser to scale them down for display, intentionally or not...

Sorry guys, I think it is Tapatalk that is the issue. After a recent update the links when I post them are different than before and the way to post has changed and not for the better I am afraid. I sent an email to TT but no reply as to the issue or changes.

Here's a daily deal from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000644AF/?tag=atomicindus08-20

The price is a couple bucks less than normal, so not amazing but the lowest it gets. I have purchased a half dozen of these things for keeping drinks cold and eliminating sweating on furniture. They work amazingly well.

We’ve been using these for a couple years. Bad news about them: they work so well your wife will want to toss that pile of foam coozies you’ve got and replace them with the Rubbermaid ones.

If your beer gets warm before you finish it in one of these Rubbermaid can holders, you really didn’t want a beer!

They were $4.00 for a few days in the first week in May.

They were not, that was 3rd party, so they usually get much less attention. Much less stock normally & not 100% the same policies as direct from Amazon. And it's 3rd party, they manipulate prices all the time. One could say they were $1.01 last July 26, but doubt many got in on it, though it may have affected what others were selling it for.

Coopertools 175E5V 5-1/4" Electrician's Scissors
[these are the best work scissors ever. i still have and regularly use the ones my dad got in the early 1970's in his AT&T tool kit.]

When I worked for Pacific Bell we called these 'snips'. It's a great tool and in the hands of a good technician it can work wonders.

What generally (or specifically) do you use them for? I occasionally do electrical work (on scenery) and if something like this could be useful I might look to pick some up.

Where does this sort of item excel or fall short?

Thanks in advance.

Edit to say that depending on the situation I already will have with me wire cutters, cable cutters, wire strippers (such as klein 11055), linesman pliers, maybe auto wire strippers, a utility knife, and a few non-electrical related pliers. I will bring everything to the jobsite but will only carry in my side pouch the pliers I think I might use, so if this can replace one or more in the pouch it would be a welcome addition.

These are primarily used for the maintenance and repair of smaller (22 & 24) gauge twisted-pair communication wire. Snips sort of just fall perfectly into your hands, in a way that would allow you to perform repairs to, or splice together, multiple twisted pair conductors efficiently. A skilled tech can splice tens, if not hundreds of these conductors in an hour without ever having to drop the snips from his hands. Although machine splicing is the predominant method for splicing large copper cable compliments, snips still have their place in the telecommunications industry.

Anyone have one of these lg-lp125 reels? I wonder what the longest 3/8 hose that will fit on it is?

At work we wire a lot of three phase motors (1/4 HP to 1 HP usually). We use four conductor VFD cable that has shield braided around the wires and a shield pigtail(?) that run lengthwise along with the wires.

What I was taught is to strip the end of the cable and use electrician' scissors to cut away braided shield. The pigtail is in contact with the braid so the pigtail is grounded on both ends of the cable.
