Mitutoyo Micrometer set for $120 in good condition. I’d bet this will be a pretty good deal. Would love to have them but have no use for mics.

Mitutoyo 103-927-10 Outside Micrometer Set, Ratchet Stop, 0-75mm Range, 0.01mm Graduation (3 Piece Set) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003UATBKM/?tag=atomicindus08-20

I received these today and they don't appear to be genuine Mitutoyo. The case is for a 4 piece set with the largest mic missing, but it does say Mitutoyo. The three mics received look cheap and nowhere do they have a brand name.

Back to Amazon they go. Win some and lose some. Thanks for posting anyway, it was worth the shot!

When this came up I was gonna say you're either going to receive something in nearly pristine condition OR cheap imports swapped in, but I decided it didn't contribute much to the thread (nor does my current drivel here).

I'm sorry to hear my second option was the reality. But really no big deal, Amazon will pay for it to go back and you're just out a few minutes of your time.

The 2 piece sets, 0-75mm or 0-3", will come in a flat box. They move to vertical for the 4 piece sets and above. This must have gone way off the rails to receive a Mitutoyo 4 piece box with 3 no-name units inside.

Thanks, I bought a couple of the Ernst plier holders. Have 6 of the socket holders and think they are good for my DIY use.

So sorry this isn't posting a deal but I feel discussion on the general workings of AWD qualifies....

anyway did anyone lose a slew of things that were AWD in their carts today? I had at least 4 things I was watching that all apparently sold. They were all over the map from auto parts to tools to house stuff.

I dunno if it's 1) coincidence 2) Amazon is somehow moving things around or 3) some reseller is trying a business model of just buy ANYTHING sold thru Warehouse Deals.

The latter would be a bad model since at least one item was only 8% below retail.

Anyway I'm not upset that the items are gone - had I truly wanted them I would have ordered when I had the chance.

Just curious....

edit: oh and I wanna thank whoever ordered the orange Homak cart yesterday once it dropped another ~$17 to $300. I SOOO don't need it but was so tempted LOL

the orange Homak cart

Yeah that one got my "I want" thing going. I almost pulled the trigger on the last one but contemplated about a half hour too long. When I finally grew the nads to pull the trigger it was gone. Then I decided a HF 44 made a lot more sense for my needs. Still, a deal... must buy deal...

I'd say for sure Amazon is changing something about how they operate. Used to be stuff on my watch list would dramatically drop on a regular basis. It was keeping me broke buying stuff I really did need, couldn't afford to pass up, but couldn't really afford it either. Now my wish list continues to grow as nothing is moving in price.

all my **** is still there, at the prices i saw last.

after having played this game for some time, I have decided that amazon uses AWD not only to dispose of returns and warehouse damaged items, but to also deal with stock overages.

I have gotten items that clearly had never been opened, and were indistinguishable from new items I had bought. they also didn't disappear from the listing after I had bought one (although only one was ever available).

did this happen overnight? while amazon clearly does dynamic price adjusting, it is possible that this kind of stock adjustments are done in batch mode in the middle of the night, when things are quieter. maybe some of those items went away because the stock had dropped back down from people buying full priced ones.

I remember back in the late 80's and early 90's, the best time to book airplane tickets was 4am eastern time. the airlines took the mainframes offline at 2am, and ran all the cancelations/route changes/seat assignment changes that had been piling up all day, and brought them back online at 4am. so all the people who canceled, or changed their seat assignments, their seats all appeared in the system at 4am. the pricing algorithms also seemed to reduce those fares, since the plane became "emptier".

there, now we are pretty far into the weeds . . . .

Yeah it happened overnight. Some of the things - actually all - had been sitting in AWD for a long time. I bet it was just a stock adjustment.

Thanks! Back to our regularly scheduled programming...
