Hey Duker - why is this your favorite air gun? And can you advise how large of a compressor is needed for this gun to work well? Their website states that it needs a 8.9HP compressor at minimum - isn't that really huge? Thanks!

I put this in my basket to buy not long after Duker posted it. A few minutes later when I went to check out the $27 unit was gone and best price was $47.

Oh well, not something I really need and I hope it's going to a good home.
I beat you to it

I used them on 5HP 60G compressor and they seem to work fine. I also use the Milton V style hi-flow connectors so I think that helped. I now have a 10HP 120 gallon and with the 24” extension one I can knock a half a can of Diet Coke (no fat shaming me...) from across the shop.... I learned that the hard way.

Here are some of mine... I put a harbor freight one next to them for scale....

edit: I forgot to answer your question... why I like them...... they are well made and just feel good using them. Are Ultra worth the premium over some other air guns...probably not at list price but when they are on sale I think they are....

It said it needs 40 cfm (that's to run continuous). The Guardair models I have need 20-30 cfm to run continuous. They will run with a smaller compressor. I have a decent reservoir and just take a break while my compressor catches up to fill it again.

My two cases of deal totes arrived yesterday. Unfortunately two were smashed beyond usability, and 6 more have minor damage but are still usable after I dremel off the sharp edges. Four undamaged totes out of 12 is not acceptable. In all the orders I’ve placed for this brand of totes in the past I’ve never had one damaged. I’ll be reaching out to Amazon to try and get some satisfaction.

Are these not the commercial models? Or has the design been changed? Are they trying to dump damaged units?

I know when I worked at a grocery store 15 years ago those things were indestructible. We would get pallets of these things with one or two wraps of shrink wrap. Over the 5 years I was unloading trucks I must have dumped at least 20 pallets full of these things with all the heavy stuff at the top. I can't remember ever having one of them break.

Construction is similar to the other 3 dozen that I have of the larger size. I’ve been using those since 2016 without any damage to any of them. I don’t have any others of this short size to do a direct comparison. One design change is a couple openings inside the handle area into the storage area, the larger ones don’t have that (see picture, new is on left, older is on right). It’s been very cold here this week, 10” of snow Wednesday/Thursday, so I’m wondering if the cold is making the plastic more brittle in transit.

The holes were there in the shorter ones when I was at the grocery store. As far as the temp goes, I know I had some fall that had just come out of refer trailers that were around 0*F without issues.

I just finished with Amazon customer chat. They gave me a credit of $39.62 for the damaged totes. I didn’t argue or ask for more money back as I’ll end up with 10 usable totes. I can salvage 6 of them with minor damage and will be throwing away the two smashed ones.

Unless they changed something about those colorful couplers they are aluminum and easily damaged in a shop or heavy use situation.

Yeah the color ones are still aluminum although you can buy the brass and steel versions as well. I have been using the purple ones for about a year and did have to replace one because of dropping a tool and damaging the connector. I do recommend the Milton 1750/1751 safety couplers as I still have some older M style connectors that I have been too lazy to change out and these couplers make it painless to swap between tools.

Amazon's description says they're anodized steel(?) so maybe they're at least sort of tough. I've got a set in my cart but that nothing I have is compatible, it's difficult deciding to pull the trigger or not.

I received my Akro Mils bins yesterday, two packs of 6 and no damage at all. I was expecting a few to be damaged, so now I have more than I likely need. I already have both larger sizes from previous deals and was glad to get some to match.

I've also noticed Amazon raised prices on most of the new 70% off stuff that I usually search for, likely due to help with their increased demand. That said, there are plenty of Warehouse deals and I have over two dozen in my cart I'll try to post here this afternoon.

I'm in NY. It was down to the 20-30's at night, and snowed yesterday, but it was low 40's today so I'm not sure the temperature is really the issue. There was zero packaging in the box, and the box had clearly been tossed about.
I contacted Amazon and was able to get a partial refund. If the deal goes live again I'm going to order another set.

A FYI
I've not bought any of the Akro-Mills Bins on AWD with lids, just the ones that stack and hang for organizing things in my shop. I've bought small ones and huge ones. (6 sizes and about 40 bins) and have never had one arrive broke. Maybe the lids and those hinges are more fragile than the bins I order. (I'm a little above the mason dixon line, not too hot, not too cold)

4 out of 6 of mine were damaged also. I'm wondering if the ultra-low price was due to some pallets of boxes that were known to have been handled roughly from the distributor and offered at a discount to Amazon.

4 of my 6 were damaged in some way. Seems I've fared the worst.

Hope you got on chat and had that taken care of. I considered for the 1 out of 18 that was slightly damaged... but it wouldn't be right.. I'm going to use that one just like the others...

Sad... I was going to use 3 or 4 of them for stuff "under the bed"... I would need to raise the bed 2 inches... perhaps I should have measured before ordering... I will find a place and use for them.
