I'm willing to get it's just luck of the draw of how they've gone through the distro center (both vendor & UPS) and how many times the driver dropped it along the way. I've seen many of these akro boxes at amazon return auctions and it's usually due to dropping them, since they are pretty big & heavy.

Who knows why the sudden cheap price on amazon. fortunately all 24 of mine arrived safely. for those that are wanting replacements..usually if you initiate the return on amazon, there is an option to replace w/ the same item. sometimes this is only if it's in stock and sold by amazon. If you want to hold out a bit vs returning for a refund, perhaps you can wait until they're back in stock and return/replace?

Mine arrived stacked inside a box with no padding.
Some broken bits in the bottom of the box but they will work fine for garage storage.

They are OOS again. They are sold by Amazon and are in stock for brief intermittent periods at prices in the $38 range.

Not a warehouse deal, but I figured this was as good a place as any to post that amazon pantry is available again. A lot of stuff is limited to one per order. But it’s an opportunity to purchase some staples that you may be struggling to find locally.

Great question. I have a Color matched V flow connector on one hose reel and when I plug in an air gun to either the that one or the safety coupler I don’t notice any difference but that is rather subjective. I just shot a note to Milton asking that question and I will see if they respond back.
