They delivered the goodyear welding hose reel yesterday. The "damage" that it had that allowed me to buy it for 125 instead of 300 was a missing G on one side of the Goodyear decal. Other than that completely perfect. Thanks Duker!!!

I have had excellent experiences with the Amazon warehouse deals. At times, I've paid 10-20% of the new price. I've been hit with a dud or two but they take them right back without a fuss. And, some of the things are really no brainers. For example, I have bought copy paper and office supplies. Obviously, they aren't sending me paper that has actually been used. Usually, there is some small damage to the packaging which is functionally insignificant.

Be careful with these from Amazon Warehouse. I've heard of people buying them and returning counterfeits. I would stick with those containing a calibration certificate from the manufacturer.

Thanks for the tip. I'm the one who bought it. I'm really surprised that Amazon isn't getting they're pants sued off with all the counterfeit items.

It would be hard to sue them for that. You would have to prove that they were doing it knowingly. It would be very easy to blame it on one of the many suppliers they buy from, or the co-mingled inventory from 3rd party sellers. And of course Amazon could bury your in lawyers and keep appealing even if they lose. They could keep it in the courts for years until they win or make you give up because you can't afford to fight anymore. And you can be sure they'll keep fighting it because that would set a very bad precedent for them.

The only way to start to fight that is for the government to step in and try to do something. Though it really needs to be addressed further upstream than Amazon. It's the manufacturers in China and other countries, and the middle men that are knowingly buying them to sell as real.

There aren't many companies that could afford to go after Amazon. They make more revenue in a day than someone like Mitutoyo makes in a year. It would take someone like Apple or Samsung to go after them without fear of losing by getting out spent or Amazon punishing them in some other way like no longer carrying their products.

I wish you could ask amazon specific questions about a specific returned item (i.e. sometimes they have several different quality used items), be it like new, used good condition, etc. They wouldn't really need much human interaction, just take six pictures, one of each side of the returned item and a few of the blemished area if there were any, then finally one of it repackaged, less than 1 minute for someone who does it for a living. It could be part of a drop down menu option to "request actual pictures" then decide from there. I realize this wouldn't eliminate counterfeit items but possibly give clues maybe with a color or font being just slightly off.

With as good as Amazon is on returns, pictures and questions are probably not worth there time. Out of all the warehouse deals I have done, only a few had to be returned.

Bosch PB120 12-Volt Max Lithium-Ion Compact AM/FM Radio with MP3 Player Connection Bay

$29.99 $79.99 63% off List Price

I have no idea as to if it's any good as I only have a few corded Bosch tools.
At Amazon it's selling for $50.00 and has a solid 4 star rating.

Very tempting as Bosch 12V is my new battery platform. Woot talked me out of it by not letting me see tax & shipping before entering my CC info.

Thought I remembered some previous dialogue, don't have prime as everything used to arrive in 2-3 days anyway. Moot point, not letting me see tax and shipping before entering my CC info is a good way to keep my business with competitors.
