Looks like the lowest price in a long time.

DEWALT Portable Band Saw, (DWM120K)
$199.04

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001W0ZIK4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabt1_bk4UFbS2XPH3E

I've been watching these for a long time (Dewalt and Milwaukee), and could never catch them less than $299.

Miraculously, I stumbled on this deal on the 23rd and pulled the trigger on it immediately. It showed up on my porch on the 24th. :pimpflash

Now, I can get a SWAG table and mount my Bauer to it and keep the Dewalt portable.

I'm so tempted to buy one of these because I'm a tool *****. I can't really think of a good use for it though. Seems like its the type of tool for a contractor not really all that useful for a home owner. Change my mind?

Once again this site costs me:rocker:

Thanks! Got one.

Buds would this not qualify for the 50 off 200 sale by adding a little? xmasxmas

I think many of us here use them in conjunction with a table (such as the SWAG Off Road table) that allow them to function as a vertical bandsaw. In that capacity, they make an invaluable fabrication tool for a small shop where floor space is at a premium or where price would prevent purchase of a dedicated metal cutting band saw. Plus, they can then be used as intended for occasional "hand" cutting tasks as well.

I'm a homeowner and purchased a cordless Ryobi bandsaw about a year ago. It was invaluable when removing old galvanized steel pipe to replace with PEX. I've also used it to cut some PVC pipe, and I anticipate using it to cut some metal fence posts soon.

So if you're the type of homeowner that needs to cut pipe, portable bandsaws are a very useful tool. With that said, I only paid like $50 for the bandsaw. I think I'd have a harder time justifying a $200 bandsaw, even if it is a lot better quality. Also, I think as a homeowner having a cordless bandsaw is a lot more useful than corded.

Thanks Duker for the heads up about the pool hose last weekend. It was delivered last night. I was worried I might have to adapt it to fit into anything, but I was wrong. It plugs into a shop vac, it goes right into my mini dust deputy bucket, and it attaches to the spare dust collection ports around my shop with a 4" to 2.5" adapter.
The only downside to it is its super heavy duty. Way stronger than a regular shop vac hose so it is a little more difficult to get untangled or rolled up. I'd have to drop something super heavy on it to rip it though, so it will last for decades.

I'm super happy with it.

Now I just need to build a reel for it or figure out some other way to store it.

Zeke, glad it worked! Looks like some neat toys in your shop! Rockler has hose reel as well as Coxreel for vacuum hoses that either might work or be helpful as a template if you make your own.
