David , dang you have been busy!

I didn’t see much either when looking as things seem pretty picked over but I also had to limit my shopping time as we have some guests in town.

I don’t know who the Tool Box shipper is but they are cheap as well... I figured about 4 bucks each for a 7/8” chisel with a metal cap means you won’t mind chipping one these when you abuse the hell out of it!

Duker and FB,

Thanks for the posts.

A Happy and better 2021 to all.

In Orlando visiting new grand daughter so we have one big blessing from an otherwise not very good year.

Thanks Bruce!

I am glad to see that Duker came along as I was searching for stuff. I was concerned that his visitors to his homestead would keep him busy this morning.

After loosing most of the good stuff I saw this week that I thought was worthy of posting here, I think I will keep dropping them when I find them instead of trying to hold onto them.

Thanks as always, Duker, and happy new year! Grabbed that pressure gauge - we'll see what kind of shape it's in and how it holds up. Figured it might be nice to have something more precise for setting fuel pressure on my cars/toys than an analogue gauge.

Some good deals on torque wrenches

CDI 1002CF3 Drive Computorq 3 Electronic Torque Wrench, 3/8-Inch

$160 usual $460. Very good

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000I1UTI4/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Precision Instruments PREC2FR100F Wrench (3/8" Dr. Split Beam Torque w/Flex Head (20-100 Ft./Lbs))

$76 usually $111. This one is acceptable. Lowest I have seen the PI though.

Okay, I bought the computorq. Thanks for the link.

I've needed a 3/8 torqe wrench that went lower than my 1/2 craftsman and was leaning toward the PI split beam but then you posted the link to the fancy digital model.

So what have I done? What benefits/drawbacks are there compared to the split beam?

Glad you got it. Life is always full of trade offs. When in doubt order both?!?

Should let a real mechanic chime in here, but I think the main drawbacks are the batteries always die at inconvenient times on the digitals and would be scared of abusing the Computorq more. ie dropping it in coolant, etc. To be honest if the Computorq did angle too it would be more of a no brainer in my book.

Darn, I missed out on the CDI Computorq wrench. Would have loved to add that to the toolbox. Could really use a good 3/8 torque wrench with that kind of torque range.

I had the warehouse CDI in my cart, and at the last minute changed my mind and got the full price one. At $111.31 it's only 2 cents higher than the all time Amazon low and no dealing with a potentially abused one. There's still a used one available at $92.02

Yeah...the fact that it's 'Used-Acceptable) concerns me. Makes sense to want to buy new. I think I'll hold off for now and see if the price drops on the other one again anytime soon. Trying not to spend too much on unnecessary tools right now so might as well wait a bit!

Judged as "Used-Acceptable" by someone who has no idea what a torque wrench is or does?

You guys are worrying me because I thought I bought a "used acceptable" CDI digital torque wrench but it was the PI wrench that was "used acceptable". The CDI was "used very good". In any case, I guess we'll see when it shows up.
