Just an FYI on those Lufkin tapes, the plastic handle doesn't take much to snap off, leaving a rather awkwardly packaged long tape. They might survive very occasional, gentle, home use but for any serious layout look elsewhere.

Thanks for the heads up. At those prices they are almost HF throw away items anyway. Both gone, so somebody went for it. Seem like a cheap solution for a DIY like me.

Ok... I have been watching these trays for some time.... The 3 piece sets trend from $50 up to $90... If you can tolerate RED... these are $35ish... I jumped. ORANGE is $39 I believe. This is not an AWD... it is just an Amazon Deal... not used... NEW !!! I got an addition 5% off... coupon click...

These are NON-MAGNETIC Silicone trays... from what I am understanding.

Agreed that the Grypmat ones seem WAY too expensive. There are a number of other silicone tool tray 3-packs on Amazon for about $40; has anyone tried any of them?

My local Rural King is supposed to have those gray ones in stock. I'll go back after lunch and check them out.

Thanks

The ones at Rural King seem decent. Thick silicone. Look to come out of the same Chinese factory as the red ones on Amazon.

My red ones just arrived. VERY pleased. Very nice red. Very thick silicone. The largest of the 3 is very flexible and sits perfectly on my turbo intake on my subaru... Also sits well on my radiator cross frame on my other car.

The edges are a perfect height to prevent stuff rolling over and off...

All 3 nest together. The smallest tray has spots for hex bits... I can't put my stubbiest bits in as they would bottom out and require a hemostat to remove but normal length short bits would be fine.

The largest tray when filled with a few tools... including my M12 hammer drill can be carried with the 2 handles, provided I put some horizontal tension on the tray... with that weight it would easily fold if given the opportunity.

All that said... I FREAKING love them. Photos in New Tool Arrivals shortly.

Stick something in the hole first as a spacer. Like a short piece of pencil or dowel that fits snugly so it won't fall out. And maybe add a neodymium magnet that fits snugly so the bits are secure?
