I took a gamble on this granite surface block. Always thought I would like to have one good flat surface to work on, but don’t really need a high precision, high $ block. This should be great if not damaged.

I found a Made in USA 5/8" ground rod driver for SDS rotary hammers for less than $8, shipped by Amazon:

There are other sellers of the same TruCut driver for around $40.
Other sellers have ground rod drivers made of pure Chinesium for around $20, and brand names are $30 - $40.

If you think you are EVER going to drive a ground rod, this is a no-brainer purchase. I used the TruCut driver with a cheap Bosch cordless rotary hammer and it did the job in about 10 minutes per 8' section. So much better than trying to use a sledge on a ladder!

In the past I've use an SDS 1/2" socket adapter and a larger socket. These type of drivers are a God send when driving a ground rod.
