That's happened to me twice now at the same UPS location. Both times amazon said not to box it and let them do it. I suspect they're throwing them out.

I'm pretty sure amazon is having the ups store do a cursory check, then dropping your item into a big ol box to be sent to salvage auction on their behalf. It's probably cheaper that way vs paying the return freight on everything.

I wish Amazon's Warehouse inspectors would be a bit more careful- especially with the higher valued items. I purchased a FujiSpray Mini-mite 3 on Warehouse Deals- They had three to choose from when I was contemplating buying one. Two of them were rated " Used Like New" and one was rated - "Used Good". The "Used Like New" was about $20 more than the "Used Good" So I selected one of the "Used Like New " ones that had the shortest delivery time. I received the item today- and in the box was a unit with one of the filter holders damaged, No manual, no power cord, no filters and the Spray gun was missing several pieces. All told I think there was about $75 of stuff missing. Which interestingly is about what the discount was.

If they took 2 minutes to evaluate the item for completeness, that would make the whole process better, I think I'm about finished buying warehouse deals.

When this happens start a discussion via chat with their Customer Service about how it wasn't as advertised and you may be surprised what they will offer to close it...just don't accept their first thing. I had a $400 robot vac that was sold new(not warehouse) show up obviously used(still had dirt in collection bin and piece of Styrofoam stuck in it). I got on the chat with Customer Service, the chat bot offered return shipping label to ship back and refund...I asked about compensation for time and labor which pushed it to a real person and a minute later was told full refund, no need to return...do what you want with the item! Total time was under 3 minutes

I did chat with them, got sent up to 2nd level almost immediately, But that person offered to return it and when I respectfully declined to return it since I think I can fix it and it was a hassle to return, they said the item's value was too high to not return it. I didn't want it for free, I would have liked to have gotten the missing parts replaced. But they couldn't do that either. So , they did credit me $20- which is what I paid over the "Used Good" one that I had passed on. $20 is better than a poke in the eye, the missing parts will cost me more than that though, But had I returned this one, there wasn't another one discounted this much, the only one left in the Warehouse Deals section was discounted only about $70 this one was discounted nearly $100 from the original price, and I have it so I am ready to use it as soon as I get the missing parts. The one remaining discounted one had a delivery date into next week. The parts should be here by Friday (I ordered them as soon as the chat was finished) so I can start using it to paint my fence this weekend
