Just came across this: Amazon Weekend Tool Sale

The item that caught my eye was the Denali Digital Protractor but I am unfamiliar with the Denali name - any ideas or comments?

Why not buy the Starrett..its not digital but its accurate and a brand name you know makes quality products. or the Bosch depending on your needs and budget.

I was not familiar with the Denali brand of tools, and I'm sort of supposed to know these things. So I looked up the trademark here. A bunch of Denali trademarks registered to Amazon Technologies.

So, Amazon has decided they want a house brand. They've got a pretty good range of ODM/OEM suppliers, judging from the selection they've put up in such a short time. No idea on quality- I'm tempted to think that since Amazon is new at this, that they'll run into quality problems. But they could have hired real good sourcing people from other companies to handle this part of the business. I can't imagine that tool companies already selling on Amazon will be real thrilled about this.
