Another small update:

Progress has been slow but I am happy with the results. I picked up a sound bar on sale and got a TV for my birthday. With a cheap full motion TV mount off amazon and about 30 minute installation I now have some entertainment in the garage.

The more immediate improvements to come will be installing a gate on the side of garage to access the back yard easier and building another shed to get the pressure washer and generator out of my garage. Hopefully in the next few weeks depending on work schedule.

Update:

I am working on a better air compressor setup. I rearranged the side of the garage to fit the new 20 gal Northstar air compressor. This is plenty for my needs and the sound is much less irritating than the oilless compressor. I also bought a rapid air system that I should be able to install next week. I will move the reel to the front of the garage and mount it on the ceiling for better access.

Also added two new T5 HO light fixtures. Lighting is way better than before.

Wider view - you can see the new lights

Added one of my all time favorite pictures

An older picture with both vehicles in the garage, snug fit but we have recently traded the Yukon for a Q5. Much more room now in the garage.

Thanks for looking

Recently have been working in the garage more than on it. I did manage to complete the gate on the side so the shed will be next. I've also been working on organizing my welding stuff. I am working on a weld table/cart that will hold my welder and provide a mobile work space. Here are some pictures of my progress:

Moved my hose reel to the front of the garage; easier access for when my truck is parked on that side.

Getting the frame together. The design was based on what material I was able to acquire from scrap yards prior to starting the build. I had 1 10' length of 2" 0.125 WT along with a couple of 2' pieces. And some 2' angle iron for the bottom shelf. I have about $20 invested with the frame.

$20 dollars for the plate. It is pretty pitted but still works fine for what it is. A buddy cut it down for me to 20"x36". 3/8" thick.

Table came together well. So far have about 65 invested with the casters.

For now I will put wood for the bottom shelf until I can find some scrap piece that will work

Helper

Worked well hanging the portaband table parts to dry after painting

FIL came across this and picked it up for me. I plan on bringing it back to life.

Table came out great. I would definitely swap out vises and use the new one as a welding vise and save other bullit.

Thank you! Agree, for now I am still just clamping them to the table before I mount anything to get a feel for where I want them. The bullet will most likely get mounted to the main work bench.

maxchevy Fantastic work on the table.

Regards

Thank you!

Floor is done in the two car garage. Went with rust bullet. Walls got a coat of paint as well. Very happy with the way it turned out. Here is a preview before the cabinets go back in..

The Q5 parked where my truck is usually parked. So far I like less clutter in this side of the garage. I need to fix the air line at the ceiling!

With the two car garage under construction, I was working in the single bay. The wife wanted a "c-table"/end table, I found I like working out of the single bay much easier to clean up however if the project is not wrapped up my truck has to be left outside...

A side note: I am starting more projects than I can complete in a timely manner.. The vise I am working on is completely bare metal needing to be painted. My welding table is to a point I am happy with (it has been a huge benefit to my welding projects), I need to strip it and paint it. I also need to complete my shed on the side of the garage.

Thank you for the encouragement!

I am in the works of organizing my tool boxes, I am loosely following the "5s" model (every tool has a place)

Awesome garage setups! I have the exact same 2+1 layout at my house and am in the middle of setting it up. Thanks for the ideas. Keep up the good work!
