Poor 1982, supports this guy the whole thread just to get a kick in the teeth.

Lol. There's a group of people who probably SHOULDN'T buy made in USA and I think op is one.

When someone is already against the product for whatever reasons, they should buy imported. There is no chance they will be happy with the USA made because they feel ripped off no matter what.

Buy the import because at least there's a chance they will like it. Maybe it's great and gets the job done. Maybe it's meh. Maybe it's total junk, but at least there was a chance for customer satisfaction.

Yeah. Hypocritical for wanting to support US jobs.
I unabashedly admit that I try to buy American when I can, but that is not my only consideration. A quality product for my hard-earned money is important as well. There's no shame in trying to support American workers, but how can the rank-and-file workers save American Industry by themselves, when management is working against them and only concerned about their own bottom lines? Their "Bonus' " for running a business into the ground? The following article details how an American Icon went bankrupt. There is some positive news for Briggs & Stratton as I understand the holding company controlling the future of the last American small engine builder, has plans to continue making small engines. BTW: My Hobart Handler 190 was built in Appleton WI, and I didn't have to sacrifice quality or my principle of buying American when practical/possible.

I've looked at a Miller inverter welder and it was just as Chinese as anything else. So I bought an Everlast for less than 1/2 the price and it came with a better warranty.

I guess if I I ever need the warranty I'll see how well they honor it. But I could buy a second one out of pocket and still be less than the Miller.

There used to be one in California that went outta business. Can't think of the name. I guess they were really excellent machines. Their cases tho looked like smaller versions of what long block engines come in lol.
