Wow, some screwy pricing. When i clicked your link, it came up at 7000. Even so, 2000 is an amazing deal. I hope it all works out. You're going to love that lathe. I haven't even used mine yet, but from poring over it, i can see the quality. Puts the Colchester at work to shame, and that ones' no slouch either.

It's been a while for updates. The lathe got shoved over to the side of the shop to make room for the tractor to install a lift. I did just pick up an import cxa toolpost from cdco though. It won't win any contests but it will be serviceable enough to get me turning when the time comes and I can stop looking for one and focus on other things. Like putting up lifts and heat.

So, Turbo, what's the holdup? :D You can't have anything going on more important than a machine-tool rebuild. :)

Haha, it's been all hands on deck getting lifts up. I need to get back on the pacemaker though, i have several jobs that can't get done properly without it. Including one of the lifts. Stay tuned, it's coming soon.

Hey Turbo! (Again. :D)

You ever decide on a toolpost? I finally had a chance to try that Aloris CA on my Springfield, and it's just a little too big. I have to run the blocks almost all the way down to get tools on center, so I'm going to stick with the CXA.

I wound up with a pretty complete setup- the toolpost and eleven blocks, including a couple carbide holders.

If you (or anyone else, for that matter) is interested, let me know.

Yeah, I did purchase an import cxa setup. The aloris package is probably out of my price range anyway. Thanks for the offer though.

Not yet, but i am getting closer. I had about a month of downtime where i was laid up sick. Now that it's getting warmer, i will be pushing the lathe out to work on it again. Needs paint.
