American rotery phase converter

After considering my many options and doing my due diligence, I bought an American Rotary 20 horsepower phase converter. This will meet or exceeds all of my needs for as long as I live.
One of my considerations for this choice was having three phase power available when one of those three phase deals becomes available.
I have a few regrets, one being a Kearney and Trecker milling machine. The original owner bought this machine about 40 years ago and never took it out of the crate. His daughter said her Dad bought every option and accessory for the K&T. They were asking $4000. Her Father was a machinist for a local fabrication company.
Good ol' Dad could not get three phase into his home shop, so the K&T got placed in a corner, covered and nearly forgotten.
I bought my American Rotary from a Canadian Company, in Ontario. The livery on the control box says CANADIAN ROTARY by American Rotary. In Canada the Underwriters Laboratory, UL, sticker must appear on all electric machines.
I bought my A/R through Amazon. Canada.
The Canadian Retailer contacted me to make sure I was buying the best unit for my needs. The Retailer is Toews Power Systems. Their customer service has been better than anything I have experienced in the last 50+ years. https://toewspower.com/
I bought a few option "kits" from Toews. (pronounced TAVES) Shipping was quick and easy. Yesterday, one of their customer service persons called to tell me he was sending some SWAG.
I have mounted the converter on an put of service pressure washer cart.
The cart will get a long power cord and act as an extension cord for my Miller Welders as well as being a mobile three phase power cart.

The .250" grade 8 bolts hold the Baldor generator in place. The rubber feet absorb the loaded vibration. The small bolts go through the .500" foot bolts and connect to another vibration absorbing system under the base plate.
I had not been using my MYFORD Super 7 lathe is quite some time. It was good to get back on the lathe again. This gave me the perfect opportinity to use a Myford collet chuck. The collet chuck was never used it before yesterday. It is over 40 years old.
I need to get out the EVPORUST for some minor surface corrosion.

Congrats on a good choice! I too have an American Rotary ADX unit, only in 10HP. Although my control box is mounted on a wall next to the 3 phase panel that it feeds. Glad to hear the customer service up north is still excellent. The factory in MN had the same excellent customer service.

The K&T sold in a few days. Sadly, I am not the person who bought the K& T. End of the story.

So, like the dumb *** that I can be, I thought about it for a day. My wife encouraged me to call back and she offered to buy the mill so she would not have to hear about the "one-that-got-away". The K&T was sold. I kicked my self and I never mentioned the K&T around home again.
Keith Fenner, owner of Turn Wright Machine Works of You Tube fame has this K&T exact model.
I have changed. If the price is right and I like it, I buy it. If I change my mind after a time, Craigslist is always open for business.

Therein lies the rub on some investments. Been there.
It's like hot rods. The majority of the time you know you will lose some of your investment come sell time.
You just have to wait until it's presence aggravates you too much, then price it to sell.

I have a 15HP unit. I ran it in my laundromat to run four large front loaders. Never had a problem. It ran 24/7 for YEARS, every once in a while there would be a power dip and I'd have to turn it back on. After about 8 or 10 ten years of running 24/7, I replaced the bearings as it got noisy. Where I live it gets 110-115F in the summer, and even hotter in the boiler room where this beast had to constantly run. I got rid of those machines, but it's still there, but not running anymore.
