Well it finally showed up. It was caught in weather from what I was told. It was supposed to show up Friday so I had set the weekend aside to install it and didn't schedule any work.

I received a call late Monday night saying it would be delivered Tuesday morning. I took my trailer and met the driver at NAPA and offloaded it from the semi truck flatbed to my 18' flatbed.

My son and I unpackaged it and lifted it off the trailer with an engine hoist.

Installed the column extensions and erected the columns using the engine hoist. It worked out quite well as the hoist did the majority of the work and I balanced and walked it into position while my son raised the hoist.

We chalked the lines in the floor and walked them into position.

Tonight I will anchor the power column and I borrowed some scaffolding to install the overhead support with cables and hoses.

Hopefully tomorrow night I can run the electrical and be done. I have work scheduled for the weekend so I need to have it done. Mike.

Trailer backed up to shop door.

Finished the structural/mechanical portion of the install last night less the arm installation. Tonight I will run the electrical and hopefully finish it up. My son has been a huge help. Mike.

FINISHED!!! I finished it up about 9:30 last night. It wasn't too bad to erect and anchor. I was just too much of a tight *** to hire someone else to do it. I guess I also don't trust someone to do things the way I want them done. My wife says I need to work on that.

Anyway I added one item to the electrical. I installed a 30 amp double pole/single throw switch just above the lock release on the power side and ran both legs of power through that switch prior to running it into the motor/switch assembly. That way IF there is ever an issue with the pushbutton there is a disconnect within quick reach.

I ran EMT from the breaker panel up the wall and along the ceiling to a J-box just above the power unit and then dropped 10-3 SO cord down along the power column w/clamps. I also added a strain releif on the SO cord and to the ceiling.

After getting the electrical ran I put the hyd. fluid in and started the bleeding process of the cylinders. After bleeding the rams I ran it to full height and up agains the pressure relief to check for leaks. Sure enough the power side was ******* hyd. fluid out of the fitting at the bottom of the cylinder and the idler side had a small puddle the size of a quarter.

After verbally abusing the quality control dept. I decided to remove the fittings/adapters and address the issue. There was no sealant/teflon on the threads of the 3/8" NPT going into the ram itself. I cleaned the threads and applied some teflon, reinstalled the fittings (both columns) and bled the cylinders again.

Once I verified the leaks were fixed I had a little tweaking on the synchronizing cables and installed the arms.

Time wise it took me about 5 hours to erect the columns and perform all of the structural/mechanical assembly. Two hours to run the conduit and electrical. Two hours repairing the hydraulic leaks and final bleeding and adjusting. Three nights work, nine hours total. I still think I am money ahead doing it myself. A local installer wanted $400.00 to erect which did not include electrical. I would have had to perform 8 hours of work in the shop to pay for the install less electrical.

I hope to have many years of service and I am sure my back with thank me after the first job. I have two jobs scheduled for this weekend so I will be able to try it out. Mike.

Used it over the weekend for a couple of paying jobs. WOW!!! I should have done this years ago.

Last night I had to replace the tailpipe on my Jeep. It is nice to be able to weld standing up rather than lying on your back. Mike.
