The M2A1 Water, Dust and EMF-proof camera case:

Cameras in the shop die prematurely, so I decided to eliminate as many possible causes at once. Ground wire connects to mains ground.

With EMPTY officially stenciled on top, it's theft-proof, too.

Ammo cans are, unfortunately, getting harder to find and more expensive around here. Last couple I saw in the wild were priced $25 and up.

I guess I'm spoiled by memories of the Army/Navy surplus store bins full for $5 each.

I am bumping this thread for some new ideas. I'm not new to ammocans, I have a ton of them, but I was just gifted one of these new plastic can sets in a tray. Its a Greenmade storage bin set from Costco, and it doesn't appear that the cans even have seals in them, so not watertight. What do I do with this? What do people who buy them do with them? My ammo is in actual ammo cans, so I don't need to put it in these really. Thoughts? Ideas?

I purchased ours for smaller emergency supplies (hurricanes mostly in our area) that we want to keep readily accessible such as first aid, batteries, flashlight, emergency radio, medications, etc. The larger items like camp stove, blankets etc. are in medium totes, so the cans help us find smaller items easier.
I had to check my set and mine do have a gasket in the lids; it's a brown silicone tpye of material and blends in fairly well with the tan lid.

I know its late now for the sale, but every year, the Sportsman's Guide runs a sale on ammo cans. $7 or so I believe per can, and if you spend $50 (as a member) or $100 as a non-member, you get free shipping! This is done on Black Friday yearly.

I've been thinking about doing some modifications to mine in this set up. It needs a bit of a bumpstop to fill the gap between the holder and FEL mount. I think this will keep it from bouncing while going through the woods. I believe I'm going to drill and though bolt the can to the bracket.

When i commanded a BCT company at Ft Knox in 1976, we had one for each trainee to keep shoe polish type stuff. I had about 100 extra i had gotten from the rifle range over time. One day the Battalion XO said get rid of them. Never thought of keeping them myself. I threw them all in a dumpster.
