Ammo box projects?????

I have a few OD green ammo boxes kicking around. Does anyone have any neat project ideas to use them. Post your pics, Lets see some ideas.

First aid supplies, Food storage, Pistol storage, dry battery storage, nails ,screws,nuts,bolts. Small hand tools.Dry document storage.Waterproof radio.

Small charcoal grill frame,Brush cutter supplies storage.Ideas are big as your imagination allows. Theres pics all over google.

I used to use an ammo can to exterminate the somewhat alive critters my brother's car would bring to the steps.. Run a hose from the exhaust of my dirt bike into it and they would just fall asleep and never wake up.

Back in '07 I purchased 10 Swedish Army wooden ammo boxes for peanuts and fitted them up in the bed of my '55 Chevy pickup for cross country travel supplies. They served me well in that respect on two trips to national truck shows, one in Pennsylvania and one in Kansas.

i just use the small ones for tool boxes for each car I own, stick in trunk and forget about them.

My KLR riding buddy and I built 2 sets of panniers for his bike. They turned out so nice I'm thinking of doing a set for my bike.

I wish that was mine!!! Mine is sitting in the garage as a shell with the front end cut off. Should look similar to the one in the pic when done......one day

i used it as a water tight box for the control boxs for my winch on my trailer bolted to the frame drillled two holes and used gromets and silicone when i need to get to any off it just unlatch and lift the lid . ammo box and winch both from harbor freight doesn't interfere with the remote signal either it also works good as a battery box for Motorcyle batterys . the other thing i have used them for is filter box cut a hole in bothe sides stick a pair of ***** hose over a wood fram that fits inside connect to a shop vac then vac the area you want to look for some thing in if sifting sand use apropreyate size screen to alow sand thru but catch what you are looking for . example is loose a earing in the **** vac the place and look in the screen there it is

I had a 50 cal can that I used as a tool box... carried everything I needed to do most any repair on the VW 3 wheeler I drove, waterproof so the tools stayed dry, and took up no space. When I got rid of the trike and bought the superbeetle, it still did everything I needed it to.

Just looked it up. Thats neat. That is the kind of idea I was looking for. I am going to try to build one. Not sure what I am going to do with it after but I will figure that out.

I am bumping this thread for some new ideas. I'm not new to ammocans, I have a ton of them, but I was just gifted one of these new plastic can sets in a tray. Its a Greenmade storage bin set from Costco, and it doesn't appear that the cans even have seals in them, so not watertight. What do I do with this? What do people who buy them do with them? My ammo is in actual ammo cans, so I don't need to put it in these really. Thoughts? Ideas?

Used one to make a blender. Used a 1/2”drive impact for a motor. SS mixing cup. Would make a drink real quick! Could also make toothpicks fresh from a 2x4.

Too damn heavy, you certainly wouldn't want to carry it around, nevermind that the plastic tray probably can't withstand it. There are actually trays that exist to hold 3x .50cal cans, and one of them fully loaded with pistol ammo is more than anyone wants to carry, then multiply by 3.

I used a 30 cal can for a trailer tongue box. Holds a couple wrenches, a two piece breaker bar, 4 tie downs, gloves and my trailer reg

I have been using a .50 cal ammo can for a little 'tag along' tool box for 40 years. It holds quite a few miscellaneous tools and has gotten me out of a jam scores of times.
Recently I was looking for an electrical enclosure box to hold a couple of reversing contactors on my 3 phase drill press and alllmossst bought this vintage side opener for that purpose on the Bay for $60
But then I saw this new but scratched/dirty 8x8x 6" Hoffman enclosure for the same price so I bought it instead. They normally sell for about $160
Fed Ex tracking says it should be here later this morning.
