Ampco wall cabinets
The house I purchased has nine of the Ampco metal wall cabinets hanging in the garage, nice of the previous owners to leave them behind. I need to move them around the garage and hang them higher than they currently are. There are only four visible fasteners on the rear of the cabinet. Obviously there has to be something holding these up, a hidden french cleat sort of thing?
The top few inches of the rear wall angles into the cabinet, I assume that’s for this mount. I’m without help today so I have placed my trans jack on the top of the work surface beneath the cabinet. Can I just bring it up to support the cabinet, remove the visible hardware on the rear wall and then just continue lifting to free the cabinet from the support cleat I think is there? Or would it be only those four nails holding it in place?
