Ampro A2664 Regulator/Filter/Oiler

I was given this unit since I'm setting up my new compressor (60 gallon Kobalt K7060HFV). It is new in the box, not used. While I do intend to run a filter/dessicant, I'm not too crazy about the oiler. I would rather not contaminate my lines with an auto oiler. My usage will be such that oiling the tool every time I use it won't be a problem at all. That being said, would you risk any contamination of the lines if you used this unit but simply just didn't put any oil in it? Or would you be better off to get rid of it and purchase a dedicated filter/regulator?

I'm no expert, but I can't think of why running the oiler dry would be a problem. Also looks to me like it can be separated from the filter/regulator. Remove the mounting bracket and they are probably held together by a short pipe.

From one pic after googling it it looks like you can separate the lubricator from the F/R?

If you can do that and still connect the pipes, that is what I would do. I would not want the lubricator either, as my compressor is all purpose (air tools, paint, tire inflation, etc.)

As you say, I just oil the tools one drop at a time into the air inlet.
