Have a Kellog American compressor, 331 I think, want to change the oil. Last time I used Amsoil compressor oil, can't remember the grade, I think it was 20 WT. Reading up on compressor oils, see many recommend Mobil 1. Amsoil needs to be mail order, Mobil 1 readily available everywhere, and a multi weight may actually be better, as compressor is in its own dog house on the side of the shop, unheated. Was thinking maybe 0W-30 might be a better way to go? Thoughts?
TIA, Jim

I would go with Mobile 1 since it's available almost everywhere. Here we get Amsoil from an independent dealer which is a phone call away but Wal-Mart is 2 miles from my house Mobil 1 is there and at other stores. Also go with the weight the owner's manual specifies/recommends.

Campbell Hausfeld is one of the few that suggests Mobil 1 10w-30. You could potentially get Mobil Rarus at Grainger or call over to the nearest compressor shop in your area and see what they have.
